Not possible! Like Xperia Z they will exclude Z1 from all camera comparisons. But don't worry they will put iPhone 5C instead.

Xperia Z1 is one of the finest if not best smartphone camera...such a shame it was not included in camera shootout but i hope they inlcude it in fresh comparo ...now when 1520 is also abt to launch.. To me camera of Lumia 1020 remains best in terms of image quality .......but whats the second best??? Its a competition between Xperia z1, Lumia 1520 ,iPhone 5S and GS4

What's the purpose of 4K resolution display on smartphone, when we can't normally distinguished between 1080p and 720p on 5" inch smartphone. I think it'll be a waste of extra processing power and battery and an increase in cost of the phone, what you say????

I think you're exactly right. +1

In the end, hopefully cheaper manufacturing of laptop/TV panels with higher resolution.

Right on! I will admit that I thought the jump from 720p to 1080p was overkill. Now, after seeing the larger (5-inch plus) 1080p displays, I can say that they are indeed sharper, especially with small text. But I still look at my Note 2's 5.5-inch screen and am amazed at how awesome it is... lessening my urge to pick up a Note 3. But this move to 4k on screen size under 10-inch is a waste in several ways, as you've mentioned above. The only people that would notice this are literally people that have superhuman vision!

Well, most of the time I have noticed the difference in display with achievement of higher resolution... like, note 3 has significant display superiority over note 2 720p. I can obseve that easily so anyone can do that too

4k on smartphones is battery power thrown in the trash bin

why can't OEMs like Samsung, HTC and LG experiment with a phone that keeps things simple. A near stock Android experience featuring an S600 or S800, a 720p 4.7 inch display at max, a big battery and a capable camera lens. you know, the specs and features that actually matter. I really hope the Moto X inspires a new class of phones because i don't like where those big manufacturers are heading.

I have two unrelated requests! Is there any possibility that you review Vaio Tap 11 and Vaio Flip? And also please do an all around comparison between iOS, Android and Windows tablets.

Ray, I have a couple questions I would like to ask. Firstly, when will the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition (LTE) be released? Secondly, if I am using my tablet while it is plugged in, will this count towards my charge cycles?

Is the audio/speakers quality on the Nexus 5 any good?

26. Ashoaib

You can go for htc if audio/speaker quality is important... samsung's audio quality is better then nexus5/G2

Hello there Ray, I heard that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can shoot 4K videos, the Snapdragon 800 version. Does that mean it has the ability to play back 4K videos straight from the phone? If so, then do the other phones that have S800 such as G2 or Z1 have that ability also?

Dear Ray, why are you so harsh in your review on non Apple products and super lenient on Apple?

Most likely because he's a hipster douchebag. He probably hangs out at Starbucks and wears birkenstock sandals and jizzes all over his ipad while drinking his non-fat latte and mourning Steve Jobs.

4K Display on phone is ridiculous. May be on tablets > 12 inch should be OK. IMO the phones should have 4K recording capability (Like the Note 3) the videos of which can be viewed through the 4K TV's which are going to be popular in coming years (Provided the costs are bought down)

Bring on the 4k! And all you people crying about your short Cummings on battery life, stop buying "sealed shut" phones and that problem will be history...

27. Ashoaib

Posts: 3298; Member since: Nov 15, 2013

Your point is valid.. I dont understand any apparent reason to seal the bettery... in my view, manufacturers only seal it so after one year when the battery backup starts getting weak, customers will start thinking to change the phone and so they can keep new phones selling... it is like a push for the customers to keep sales high
