G1 and myTouch 3G handsets to get their Donuts starting today?
Stage 1 of T-Mobile's Donut Android 1.6 OS upgrade should have started this morning. The plan was to start updating selected G1 models beginning Thursday morning just after midnight. If everything goes as expected meaning no bugs, no bricks, then the carrier will expand the upgrade to myTouch 3G devices before spreading out to the rest of the G1 and myTouch phones. A few more devices will get upgraded each day until all phones are done. As we reported yesterday, the 1.6 upgrade will include the newly redesigned Android Market, easier scrolling, and better photography and video functionality. If you're a T-Mobile customer using an Android phone, let us know when you have received your Donut and if you like the taste.
