Full QWERTY BlackBerry Q10 passes FCC certification ahead of launch
The BlackBerry Q10 is the second device to launch with the BlackBerry 10 operating system, and it has just passed one hurdle on its way to market - the FCC. The Federal Commission has certified the device.

Expectations are for the BlackBerry Q10 to launch on April 30th in Canada, and probably a couple of weeks later in the United States. Nothing is official just, though.

The Q10 is also the first BlackBerry 10 device to feature a full physical QWERTY keyboard. That allows for only a 3.1-inch 720 x 720 pixel display there, looking smallish in today’s smartphone arena. Still, the benefits of a physical QWERTY keyboard should make up for that to some extent.

Not sure why people are cheering for BlackBerry to fail, here. Just.... don't buy it. Give your reason for not liking it, sure. But cheer for a company to close down and lose a bit of competition? No advantage there.

To the CrackBerry crowd, that small screen is what they are used to with large generations of Bold/Curve/Torch users still out there. This is the device to keep them home. In reality, no Android, WP, or Apple product competes for these users except for Motorola. The Z10 is the device to get new customers. The Q10 is for that large percentage of the 80 million BlackBerry users that are dying to get out of the BB07 devices they are on but have no desire to leave.

This should fare better than the Z10. There is still an audience that prefer QWERTY and BB makes the best physical keyboards bar none. There is also far less competition in the QWERTY market these days.
