Full Moto G7 lineup spec leak points towards some disappointments

This chip isn’t as fast as the former but it does still represent an upgrade over last year’s Snapdragon 630. Moreover, it puts the device on par with both the Motorola One Power and Nokia 7.1 in terms of speed.

Aside from this processor, the alleged spec sheet also lists a respectable 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This should be paired with a 3,000mAh battery complete with fast charging support, a large 6.24-inch FHD+ (2270×1080p) display, and Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

The Moto G7 Plus' setup will seemingly be completed by a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 16-megapixel sensor on the rear, the latter of which will be accompanied by a 5-megapixel alternative that should improve background blur.

Moving on to the regular Moto G7, its leaked spec sheet points towards the exact same display, battery capacity, and storage configuration. Contrary to rumors and unlike the G7 Plus, though, the whole setup is listed alongside the weaker Snapdragon 632 – the Nokia 6.2 is expected to use this same chipset.

Similarly, while the secondary 5-megapixel camera remains the same on the rear, the other has been downgraded to a 12-megapixel sensor – the digital zoom quality won’t be quite as good. The selfie camera has also been replaced with an 8-megapixel variant.

Looking towards the low-end of Motorola’s Moto G7 series we find the Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Play. Just like the regular Moto G7, both of these will allegedly feature the Snapdragon 632 on the inside. However, there are a few key differences which should be reflected in Motorola’s pricing.

In the case of the Moto G7 Power, consumers can expect a 6.2-inch notched display paired with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper and a 12-megapixel rear camera – the secondary sensor appears to have been removed. 

Internally, just 32GB of storage is listed alongside 3GB of RAM, both of which are coupled with a massive 5,000mAh battery and Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

When it comes to the entry-level Moto G7 Play, the display’s diagonal has seemingly been reduced to 5.7-inches. Likewise, the large battery has reportedly been swapped out for a 3,000mAh cell and the RAM count has been lowered to just 2GB. The smartphone also includes a 13-megapixel rear camera that will presumably produce slightly inferior results than the other models.

As was revealed earlier today, the Moto G7 series will probably be officially introduced on February 7th. Pricing for the US market currently remains unclear but the European pricing (which is typically higher) recently leaked as €149 ($169) and €209 ($238) for the Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power, and €249 ($283) and €299 ($340) for the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus respectively.
