Four Nokia smartphones will soon receive Android 9 Pie, HMD Global confirms
HMD Global is one of the most efficient companies when it comes to pushing out Android updates – the Nokia 7 Plus received Android 9 Pie just one month and a half after its release. And today, at the Nokia 7.1 unveiling event, the company provided an updated timeline for some of its other devices.
During the month of October, HMD Global has announced that both the regular Nokia 6.1 and the larger 6.1 Plus will be updated with the newest version of Android. Owners of the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco, on the other hand, should also be pleased to hear that their update is scheduled for November.
As with the Nokia 7 Plus, no official changelog has been provided, although features such as Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, and Do Not Disturb mode will be included. Similarly, the Digital Wellbeing implementations that were announced with Pie will also make an appearance. Lastly, as this will be the stock version of Android 9 Pie, the smartphones will soon support the new gesture-based interface.
