Fossil unveils new Q Gen 4 smartwatches powered by Wear OS and Snapdragon 2100
Fossil is pretty serious when it comes to smartwatches, as the company announced a new wave of wearable devices powered by Google's Wear OS and Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip platform.

The new Q line is the fourth generation of the smartwatches launched by Fossil, and a step up in comparison with the previous series. According to Fossil, there are “several new technology features” that these new Q Gen 4 smartwatches bring on the market, including heart-rate tracking, NFC (Near Field Communication, Untethered GPS, and Swimproof Functionality.

Also, thanks to the optimizations it made to the battery, users of the new Q Gen 4 smartwatches will be able to charge their wearables within an hour to last all day. The new collection comes with more than 36 exclusive dials, and users will be able to add an increasing number of third-party apps to their wearables, as well as social media photos as watch face backgrounds.

There will many variations of the Fossil Q Venture HR and Fossil Q Explorist HR available for purchase, but they will have one thing in common, the holistic user experience.

Aside from packing Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, the new Fossil smartwatches will offer at least 24 hours of battery life, Bluetooth and NFC support, wireless syncing and magnetic charging, interchangeable straps and bracelets, as well as stunning touchscreen digital display.

All Fossil Q Gen 4 smartwatches will be compatible with iOS 9.3 and up, as well as Android 4.4 and later (no support for Android Go though). The smartwatches will be available for purchase for $255-$275 in the coming weeks.
