First pics of the Moto X backplates leak

0. phoneArena posted on 03 Jul 2013, 16:45

We are quite obviously getting very close to the official reveal of the Motorola Moto X, because the leaks are coming fast and furious now. We've already seen a couple of places, including ABC News, repeating information that we had reported months ago, and now we're seeing the first leaked pictures of the Moto X backplate in various colors...

Colored devices have been around long before Nokia. Remember colored game boys?

How many things don't come in different colors? If anything the things that come in one or two colors are in the minority.

20 colors. What a awesome concept. All we need is a Moto press conference.

i dislike how phone companies only make the back of the phone in different colors. i think the front should be the same color as well, but of course this is much more costly and time assuming.

What the hell does it matter what color? It's about performance. And black is pretty much best for view ability. But if the phone doesn't run, or the screen sucks it doesn't matter. I'd rather have a smartphone than a blue turd. Colors and engravings don't get me excited.

It's not all about performance. It's about features that are fun and useful, and making sure that the performance can deliver them optimally. More performance is great, but not everything like you say it is.

There was an article on this site saying Google kind of gave up on making this the super phone, though... it seems like they did something at least, since it's mentioned to have hardware/software features to give it situational awareness etc.

i think i'd want the back of mine to be black but i'd want a different color spine. i hope there's a brighter green than the one pictured here for me to choose and of course if i have the option i'll make it METAL! ;D

oh man i'm getting really excited about this now. i may just hold on to the Note II i'm getting tomorrow for a bit instead of selling it or putting cash with it to get an S4 or something.

Moto has been doing non-removable batteries since the 2011 Razr. That's almost 2 years. Why would the X be any different?

I think that Motorola has a point doing this removable back cover.
Every year they say that they are seeking to make the fastest and the most durable phone.
The Kevlar back is awesome, a bit ugly for some people, but the fell and grip is unique for me.
But how many people today are brave enough to go out without a bumper to show the beauty of their phones? Not many I guess. The reason is simple, we don't want to scratch them.
So I think they are aiming to make a phone that you wont need to buy a bumper to protect it because the back cover will be replaceable (and I hope it will be cheap). So if it scratch or break you just need to buy a new one.

Anyway, I'm still hoping for more, otherwise it will be very disappointing.
