Although I agree the evo4G is a beast I don't agree it will set a bar. It will run android like so many 3G ohkne and it's not even a new version. 4G will set standards not the devices that use it. Also testman I agree there aren't many revoltuio ary features. Iad is a huge thing for devs not necessarily consumers. Everything else is catch up pretty much although the idea of multitasking without sacrifice is huge. Now there is one thing I do have to disagree with u on one thing. Apple bringing an xbox live service to mobile devices. While the concept itself is, not new, and developers of certain games have things like the plus+ and feignt networks. Nothing this comprehensive will be on cell phones until windows phone 7. It's a pretty interesting feature if you're a gamer. But if you've never owned an iPhone and played it's best games, and there are hundreds of truly great games, then you just couldn't understand the impact games have. They're online with pals and ds games. Far above mobile phone games. I also have a nexus one which I am using less and less, android just isn't doing it for me, but i recognize it is a wonderful OS and reccomend it to anyone who doesn't want AT&T. But even on my nexus 1 with it's snapdragon and better stats there isn't a game that can touch it. There is one thing though where multitasking on iPhone will b better than android. Multitaking is great when there is no limit to how many apps you can have on your phone. Bit yeah no kne will have over 200 apps. Lol as far as revolutionary goes, I was hoping for something truly mindblowing but to be honest there is t anything mindblowing on any other OS out there either. And a previous poster was correct, there hasn't been a revolutionary update for android ever. So testman, while I agree with you post for the most part, I think you have missed the mark on relevance. But no this is no insult, so dont think I'm just another fanboy sticking up mindlessly for apple. I happen to like it best. That's all.

So, obviously this guy doesn't seem to understand why we are all disappointed with 4.0, but, we need to compare also to android based off what we have now. We can't go, like ihatecrapple, saying "it's something android has had already" because if Apple hadn't come out with an iPhone, android would be sh*t. So, based off what's going to be out by June/July, who's OS will be better by then? Even though these aren't huge updates, they will level with android and I'm sure comparing them together then, more people will choose to use iPhone over android. I would go into detail, but I'd just be repeating what you already have compared.

I think you're going to have to wait until later to find that out. Good questions, but a little too soon.

A serious question. Since I have been brainwashed by apple for the last several years. Between the htc hd2 and the htc evo or between windows mobile and android, which os is better. More fluid, more options and user friendly? Ive been under a big apple for a few years.

Between those two, I'd say the EVO. But why would you ask that here? Wrong place. We understand that you're disappointed, but asking a random question like this is just like a scream for attention.

android out. It's good. Not my cup of tea but good. You won't find much that iPhone doesn't do and nothin iPhone doesn't do if you're a jailbreaker. But it will be fresh. If however you are big on downloading apps or games, you will see a huge difference and may want apple back. Amd far as windows, don't bother with winmo. Windows mobile is archaic. U less your a hacker a d change Roms it's not too great. But windows phone 7 looks to be pretty good. We'll have to see.

I like everything excpet for the folders. I understand its functionality and usability - but the one thing which always sperated the iPhone from all the other phones was that everything was accessible with a single touch... but I guess it would be useful to store apps which you rarely use in some neatly packed folder..

I like the folders. Now I can keep as many games as I want in a separate folder and not have to have 5 pages of games and non-games mixed together.

I think why they decided to put folders is because of the many apps you can choose from. I think some people limit themselves to Apple's Apps because there seems to be so many and the more pages you have, the more inconvenient it is to pile up with apps and switch pages and the less likely you are to purchase/download more. I've had this problem and it makes it more difficult to keep more apps. I tended to sort through them and delete the ones I didn't use the most, but only because I wanted to save more room.

Well, thats why you can easily manage the icons on the iPhone in the first place. Heck, you can even manage them at home from youe iTunes! You could have 1 page for work apps, 2 pages for internet apps, 2 pages of games, etc etc. But I guess allowing you to choose to put apps in folders as well as allowing you not to beats any other approach. The multitasking solution sounds very nice, although I cannot believe that this won't consume more power\performance. I have a nokia 5800, thus I know how horrible multitasking is. Honestly, its not very useful there at all, because apps get stuck in the back ground, and there is no way to turn all of them off at once. I seriously hope that there will be a quick shortcut to kill everything in the background, or at least disable multitasking when you dont need it.

so im glad to see actual neck and neck competition between iPhone and Android OS cell phones. sounds like once this is released, Android companies like HTC or Motorola won't be too far from creating a phone implementing similar factors that are planned to be used on the new iPhone. I'm sad to see that there still are no widgets (unless i skipped that part).

me too. That's actually the only thing I asked for that they didn't add in. There's always

Maybe HTC should sue Apple for infinging on multitasking patents. Oh thats right they never invented it! Just like Apple never invented pinch to zoom!

Honestly it doesn't sound like they really introduced anything innovative... i mean they just added things that people were complaining it didn't have and stole things from Windows.. and Android.. and Symbian.
