I Agree with you! Totally piontless and utter useless to have a back made of glass! Though 2016 brings quite interesting phones, i am a bit worried about the designs and materiels oems chooses to use! I guess time Will tell

You have to admit it's good they're catching up on internal specs again though. I especially love the switch to OLED panels since they are being tuned as accurately (or more) than LCDs now. It's just a shame they're taking a step back in design and 'exterior' features. There's still a chance it'll have stereo speakers but if they lose it that was one of HTC's standout flagship features.

Agree. The front metal grill was what made the M7, M8, and M9 unique compared to the rest.

The front of the M9 is fake metal. It is actually a powder coated plastic.

Never knew that, my wife had an m8 for 5 months and I always thought it was also metal. But still, that design was unique in a way, because the vast majority of other smartphones has a full glass fron panel, just like what we see in this picutre.

The device dont look bad but it isn't an htc, what they needed was just to remove the black bar from the m9, now their design team go lazy and just make an iphony design.

The design looks fine, but nothing special.

Pretty much this. I am racking my brain thinking of something that HTC has to differentiate themselves now. There are a lot of phones with all metal builds, decent cameras and smooth UI's. Unless they thought of some really interesting software tweaks or there are some major hardware functions we don't know about… They just seems like part of the pack now. I wish them luck, because I really don't want to see them fail. But so far I don't see anything to be excited about.

It looks like this year the main differences between devices, yet again, will be UI and build design. All then internal gadgets seem to be the same between devices: SD 820, 4 GB RAM (though I'm sure there'll be differences between the types of RAM), QHD display (though I'm sure LG will be using LCD), and (though this leak doesn't say it) battery capacity of about 3000mAh.

Also, this design looks more like the design of the original Galaxy S phone, just with a different home button and larger front camera.

Why do people still buy HTCs?

Has the best and smoothest software, and premium design.

Quick updates, and exceptional speakers. I strongly believe that if it wasn't for their bad cameras(compared to other top flagships), the One series would've had a bigger impact on the sales of the Galaxy S and LG G series.

Agreed! HTC M9 had better ram management ( could open 4-5 big games and switch between them whitout load time or lag ) no other phone currently on the market could do thats. Most fluid UI of all phone including nexus. Nice way to update the htc app directly from google play ( many others could learn from this as this is one of the main reason its updated faster for OS update ) About the best build quality around very premium. but the camera was nearly crap on the M9 my M8 taken better pictures...

The problem with the M9 and M8's camera was the inconsistency, it will give you the best shot at times, and other times it will deliver one of the worst pictures you would see from a flagship.

It giving the best shot is rare (if not impossible), but it was also often far from the worst. I firmly believe the media overblew the M9's camera issues, when in reality it really wasn't that bad, just inconsistent and requiring a bit more effort than say, a Galaxy S6.

I chose the M9 Sense software before anything else the phone had to offer. The camera is not as bad as media claims it to be. The only issue with the M9 is the over heating, but it never got to a point where I couldn't hold it in my hands. Check out some of these photos I took with the M9 on my San Francisco trip. Some are taken in auto, HDR, bokeh, and manual modes.

Software. HTC's skin is one of the best.

42. carlemillward unregistered

So software is the only thing that is keeping them afloat. Meanwhile LG is has it the other way around, software is bad but camera is great.

LG and Sammy, good cameras but crap software. HTC has great hardware and software, best combination you can have.

Well, if you wanna look different than the others, just buy HTC. There are nothing special from HTC can offers than other OEMs. Boomsound will make you boring. My suggestion is just go for Sony if you did not want to buy Sammy or Apple products. That is my opinion.
