Facebook Home lockscreen found in version with support for Instagram, Pintrest and more

Facebook Home has basically been a failure. There's really no way to argue that. We actually kind of liked the app, but it never really went anywhere. The compatibility and features stayed limited and never caught user attention. But it looks like it might have been a learning experience for Facebook, because the leaked version 4.0 of the Facebook app has a custom lockscreen built in that looks like a broader attempt at Home...

Version 4.0 of the Facebook app leaked 3 days ago. Home has been out for a long time, but this is a very different approach than Home was.

Zuckerberg is really trying to win back users but this attempt is worth considering. Power users (instagram, flickr, Pinterest...) may actually give in but I don't really see this idea taking off esp. after being doubled down by Snapchat.

And, Windows Phone 8 is still the king of Facebook integration.. With just a few more features integrated into WP8 there would be no need for a FB app.. Let's see what WP8.1 brings.
