Wouldn't it be cool to be able to see in the darkness of the night? Suppose we told you that the FLIR One slips on the back of your Apple iPhone and includes a visible camera and a thermal imaging one. With the latter camera turned on, it is like having night vision capabilities on your iPhone. And don't worry about it killing your battery life, the FLIR One comes with a self contained battery that lasts for four hours...

If it is true thermal imaging for $350, that would be a compelling value proposition. Just have to wait for more info, I guess.

Said me!

Of course, I probably won't be using the iPhone as a primary device. I would buy a used iPhone (hopefully they come out with Android as well) and add a mount which I can switch between my vehicles. Thermal imaging for less then $1k? Yes please!

Most of the stand alone vehicle mounted FLIR systems I've seen are $1k+

Or you can decide to do the right thing and dump iPhone for good.
Get a good Android device, and use Therm-App that would give you better resolution and a guarantee that the device will keep working even when you upgrade your devices down the line.

You might see something you don't want to see. Thermal imaging cameras are widely used within the paranormal community. What we can't see with the naked eye, the thermal imaging can. Like I said, you might see something you don't want to see.

I'll take one ^_^
