Eric Schmidt finally admits that he owns an iPhone

Well, well, well. After being caught back in March with an iPhone in his hand, Alphabet executive chairman Eric Schmidt admitted today that he owns an iPhone in addition to an Android handset. Back in 2009, Schmidt was caught taking photographs with a BlackBerry, but that was months before Android 2.0 was released inside the Motorola DROID. That was the move that many historians call the beginning of Androidmania...

It's quite the opposite. iPhones do amazing in standby due to iOS being way more efficient in managing resources and not allowing apps to abuse battery in standby. But when you start using the phone heavily, the iOS optimizations fade away since the optimization inside apps is on par. And because android phones have bigger batteries, they last longer under heavy load.

By the way, having rivals they learn how to overcome the shortcomings.

This is a fail on a couple of levels. First, Google surely has a team to test and use iOS apps and to see what the competition is doing. Is Tim Cook walking around with an S7? Secondly, when they the leader of Android(software) which phone was better, he said the S7 because of the battery. Notice he said nothing about Android, the apps or touch wiz lol!

Probably because battery is one of the few remaining important things. Most phones regardless of android or ios will do pretty much the same thing. And just because he's the owner does not mean, he has to have other people do, what he can do himself.

They asked about the phone speifically, not iOS vs Android.

did Schmidt walking around with an iPhone? lol.. and what if he said he likes S7 because Android & Apps?? U will said he's totally biased since he's google fanboy, right?

yes, where have you been? if he didn't walk around with an iPhone, there wouldn't be rumors about him being an iPhone user. SMH.

Of course Tim Cook isn't walking around with an S7. We've all seen the blurry photo he took at the Superbowl. So, he definitely uses an iPhone.

Seriously.. who cares? Google employees have been widely using Macs for ages now. Why not iPhones? Especially when most of Google's services are available on iOS?

Nice excuses Eric but you use iPhone because it's better than rest of android phones. So sad even the best phone ever S7 edge ( declared by reviewers ) can't move Eric enough to ditch iPhone and get a Samsung/android phone.

Except he clearly stated that the S7 was better. I know it burns, but you'll just have to live with it.

Schmidt is obviously making that up, come on, the most logical way for him to state S7 is better is the screen, but he instead spoke about it's battery. i don't think he has ever used S7.

That's actually a pretty good reason.

Why wouldn't he have both? If I was a billionaire I would probably buy every flagship device.

Hate to admit it, but I probably would do something like that too. Try them all out for a while and then donate what I wouldn't keep.

With regards to Drumpf for President and Obama, the country hasn't collapsed under the guidance of Obama, despite what many have said would happen. Trump being President would be an unmitigated disaster for the office of the Presidency. However, the establishment everyone hates will still be in place. The amount of animosity between Obama and Congress will be nothing compared to what it will be if Trump is in office. I see a remake of Back to the Future and instead when Doc Brown asks Marty, Who's President? Marty's response being, Donald Trump. I hear Doc Brown responding, The billionaire?! Then who's Vice-President? Bernie Madoff!? :)

"it allows him to see what the competition is doing". This is totally fine from business point of view. Even Woz had a Samsung Galaxy.

To be fair, Woz really has no more influence at Apple anymore. He likes to own all sorts of devices and is platform agnostic. He is just a geek/nerd at heart.

A good competitor should pay close attention to the competition...this includes carrying their product around. Further, Google develops apps for IOS so someone at Google should probably have an iPhone.

So being an owner of a brand, means you ca't use products from another brand? Who cares if he owns an iPhone? Why is this news? Not everyone is a shallow as Bill Gates who doesn't want to use a another brands products over his own. Ok, that's fine for him, that doesn't mean everyone has too or will do it. He didn't need to admit to anything. It's not like he was trying to hide it. Hwoever as an owner of said brand, it does look bad to be using a competitors product in public. But then again, rich people are known to do things that are stupid. After all,w hat are you goign to say to him? He can't buy WTF he wants with his own money, that you're jealous you don't have?

67. TerryTerius unregistered

People in general around the world do stupid things. The only difference is that we notice when the rich and famous do dumb things because the spotlight is on them.
