Completely agree with the last line of the article......

Hope that technology shows the way and brings people close enough to be friends and let peace prevail......

My skepticism comes from a different yet similar place. I'm not thinking of countries that can but don't build infrastructure, what about the countries whose people can't afford it. Does Mr. Schmidt assume that those that can't afford to feed all their children on the same day will be fed and have money for internet? Or that the governments that neglect to spend money on food for them, will give them free internet? Sorry Mr. Schmidt, but I think you're view is short sighted. For your prediction to be true, hunger must be eliminated. People who can't afford to eat will not put the internet before food. I can't help but think this is another instance of the rich forgetting about the poor.

I wish that was the case that people would embrace much more when everyone is connected. The issue though is that when it comes to countries, they tend to want to look out for their own interest, which in many ways is fine as its their right. Sadly, that also means that if they want to, they will try and restrict information as they like. The truth however is that eventually someone will get the idea that they no longer want that filter and will clash with those who wish to keep it. End game, the people would eventually win. I just hope it goes about much less problematic than i described.

THANK YOU Google for making technology more affordable than ever. I'm not saying they're perfect but if I had to root for lesser evil...it's Google....

I rather have auto driving cars, sleep during traffic or watch a show or eat breakfast or all three if I have a longer commute.
