End of the line for the HTC Surround

It appears as though one of the first Windows Phone 7 devices to grace AT&T has finally run its course as the HTC Surround has disappeared from the carrier’s site signaling that it may have been discontinued…

It is tough to be an original device, and the Surround was unique. It was a moderate success. But it was not nearly as good a device as the 4" Focus, and really the full keyboard of the Quantum was a better draw. In my small burb, my AT&T rep said the Quantum was the bigger seller. Looking excitedly to the Titan and Focus S, and hoping for a Verizon WP For another choice.

Gotta say this phone had a kinda pointless design. Who would be willing to sacrifice thinness for a slide out speaker? Heck, would want a slide out speaker anyways? If it could slide the opposite direction as well with a full keyboard--that'd be awesome. But nope. Won't be missed.

I just wish WP7 would release new phones quicker. I want to buy a new phone but nothing to buy. Getting tired of waiting. Come on, get with it and release phones already. I can't believe it's taken Nokia this long to release their first phone. Goingssslllloooowwww.

Yes I too eagerly await for their second generation phones. Note though MS will be supporting dual core, and they are working to bring the best camera to the market. These few second generation phones does not have such. I guess I'm gonna have to wait a little longer. My HD7 is still the best and will serve me for another year or so until...
