Dual-tone HTC One M9 unveiled with 20 MP camera, Sense 7, and blazing Snapdragon 810

After months of speculation, leaks, counterleaks, renders, cases and schematics, the new HTC flagship is finally official. The handset had a somewhat unfortunate destiny when it comes to leaked knowledge about its specs and overall appearance, as it already appeared in tipped official renders and even promo videos, so we largely knew what to expect, save for a few small, but important details. What was there to upgrade except camera? M8 was perfect except camera.

its good, but its the iPhone upgrade...just the usual bump in specs and a tweaked design....thats it.....cycle of product is way shorter than the cycle of innovation....

Can't help but laugh at all the "that's the not the HTC One M9, that's the H8i" posts now. This was a very minor upgrade and if the leaks from Samsung are to be correct, this will not even come close to being able to compete with the Galaxy S6 (Edge).

S6 vs. HTC One M9 for the first half of the year. All other Androids phones don't stand a chance.

You really think M9 has a chance to compete with S6 sales??

Actually, it's the only phone that will succeed. LG's G4 is most likely a summer release so there's nothing else the S6 has to compete with. The S6 definitely will win in sales that's a given, but M9 will definitely capture sales as well, just not to the level of the former.

Until Note 5 comes and makes everyone regret buying a phone, well except for note 4 users.

Your right about that. Happens every year.

Why would they not go in to more detail about other features of the phone?? its like they don't beilive on their product. They rushed the presentation so they could get good seats to see the S6 and S6 edge announcement.

If you noticed everything is copied and pasted from the expectations page and the article when the M9 leaked.

I'm keeping my nexus 6 till the 7 comes out. I was hoping for the Evleak design not this crap. All they is just quote the M9 brochure and handbook in that presentation. I doubt anyone of the people who came on stage knew what the SD 810 was. Oh wait I just notice the camera doesn't bave OIS right??

Just checked other news outlets....it really doesn't have OIS. Agreed then, that it's a fail on HTC's part.

You're waiting for the nexus 7? Good news it's already out since 2012.

HTC always makes the same mistakes every year and loses sales because of it! 1080p? Seriously? I know it doesn't make any difference in viewing but when other phones with the same price will offer QHD people will definitely not want the 1080p one. It's not the iPhone! Last year they did the same with ultra pixel trying to justify how it's better and this year again with its display.

QHD is nothing but a battery drain, its completely useless.

I know, but it doesnt matter! People want QHD to brag! When all the other companies are giving it then you should too if you want to make sales. Its the same with qualcomm, they knew that quad core is enough but with every other company going the octa core way they had make one too.

Real tech folks do not need a 1440p.

Yes they do, the sales of LG G4 and Galaxy Note 4 proves that.

I say bad move to move above 1080p on lcd screen, they just crap and tank the battery, on the other hand oled samsung screen the hi res the better as there is no battery problmes and the s6 as a way better gpu to cover the qhd

Looks too similair to the m8 and m7 :( come on HTC, 3 years and the design has only varied slightly. Still looks good though.
