Does the Motorola DROID Bionic have its own Twitter account?

0. phoneArena posted on 23 Jul 2011, 17:55

A tweet sent from a Twitter account called MDB228, which happens to be the model number of the Motorola DROID Bionic, says that a 1900mAh energy gives the device the energy it needs to stay awake for the number of "landings" it has to make; we smell a contest coming...

The actual mdb228 already said that account is fake. mdb228 was on AC forums before this happened

i saw this a couple of days ago and figured it was fake. that's okay though, i'm thoroughly excited for it's imminent launch.

PhoneArena, do you realize how late your are on this news? I mean, you're usually several hours or even a day behind the rest of the internet, but this news is almost a week old.

i've seen instances where Phone Arena was the first with an intriguing rumor or exciting news before. it's not a competition.

I'm not saying that PhoneArena never has breaking news or exclusives. I'm saying that they are consistently late when it comes to delivering the news, and this time it was particularly bad.

In my opinion, if the news you are posting is almost a week old, and has already been proven to be fake numerous times, then you shouldn't post it at all.

it wouldn't be in a "consistent" manner if there are instances happening otherwise on more than one occasion. some only count on the couple of sites they visit to keep them apprised on any relevant information and fake or not this twitter user may have inside information on the Bionic so some people may find it worth while to check up on his/her tweets now as far as it being late to show up on Phone Arena, most tech blogs are inconsistent as far as how prompt they are posting news, i've seen Phone Arena post news up to a day earlier than Engadget before. it's not a big deal

I'm unaware of any source that says the droid product number is 228. I could be wrong though. Source?

I've seen a lot of folks speculate that the 228 is the activation code for Verizon, but that's for 3G phones only.

That caught my eye too. It's obvious the writers have been paying attention to the users and are throwing bones our way. :)
