Do you agree with Samsung's new focus on design-centric devices?

A recent poll of ours revealed that out of the 7 Galaxy S flagships Samsung has released to date, the previous-gen Galaxy S5 is only ahead of the original Galaxy S in terms of appearances, and not by much. That's a distressing thought, and the South Korea-based company must have agreed, for it axed the executive responsible for the design of the S5 shortly after it received a mostly unanimous 'NO' from critics and consumers alike...

It sucks. Everything that made the S5 any good they took away. If I wanted a glass on the front and back with metal sides, I would get an Xperia. Has the same type of design, with SD card and full waterproofing. S6 just looks pretty, and a phone isn't functional there is no point in it looking pretty.

So only the removable battery, SD slot, and Water resistance were the only things the s5 really had over the s6.. What else other than those are non-functional?

SD card is a deal breaker for me. And if it is an upgrade, it should expand on what the previous one had, not compromise. That's my point. If they did the design and also put in the features, it would have been much better.

The poll does not work for me on Windows Vista, even though I logged out of PhoneArena and signed in again.

The problem wasn't on your end, but ours. Apologies for the mishap!

I think you can have design without sacrificing functionality. Samsung in its attempt to emulate Apple (again), sacrificed practicality. I know Omnibalance design from Sony is not the cup of tea of many (maybe because it's old), nonetheless you have an example of a phone that can accomplish functionality with a touch of a good design.

Function over Form still works better for me.. Samsung got a nope from me for doing an Apple strategy when they are certainly aware the Android system consumes a lot of memory..

What will Samsung do if the Note 4 uses decide to switch away from the Note 5 because of them not including the Micro sd card option or removable battery on the phone,as the Note 5 could sort out Samsung future,by people deciding to leave Samsung because of there Big mistakes they are making

Sapphire black or Gold platinum for regular S6! That's a tough decision! I don't know F!

I got the edge in black, but I got to say, the gold looks really good too.

I would choose S5 over S6 just because of removable battery....

You can have the worse performing internal memory, the fat and slow touchwiz of old, the crappier camera, and all that plastic. I for one am loving the S6 Edge I own.

What's ever they do, each of their new phone come just getting more expensive. That's their real goals.

Prettiest phone I've ever held, so yes I agree.

Love the design of the S6 Edge (wished the Note 5 followed), but it would be even more appealing if the battery life is extended.
