Dismal flagship sales report reveals there isn't much money in Android

There have never been so many great phones at every screen size and in every price segment than this season, and never so great value-for-money phones. From the 5" waterproof Xperia M5 with 20 MP camera, through the $150 Redmi Note 2 that offers a 5.5" 1080p display and camera with phase detection autofocus, to the premium $700 Note5 which has the best screen-to-body ratio for its display size, there is something for everyone out there...

Nah, you definitely trolled me. It's what you do. Biggest troll on phonearena. But, it also backs up what I've been saying all along. You actively seek me out. You need me to justify your existence.

I didn't troll you princess. I wanted to make a point and I did. You're the biggest blackberry shill/troll on phonearena. Lol you wish. Kinda hard to miss the stench of bs.

It's really ironic how the biggest Apple shill/super-troll is calling someone else a shill/troll. Your hypocrisy is legendary. At least you're consistent with it. There is absolutely nothing you can say to the fact that you did seek me out on this article. As I've always said, you need me to justify your existence. Now come with your usual responses of deflection and projection, coupled with your usual lame retorts, and prove me right, as usual. I'm finished with you here. Any response from you will be met with "see comment __" and a "as I've always said, you still need me to justify your morbid existence". Go ahead and prove me right, as I know your megalomania will no doubt force you to do.

203. Mxyzptlk unregistered

You're just as bigger of a hypocrite as you accuse me of being. Don't try and act like you've never been a hypocrite because you're acting like one now. Actually once again you made reference to this article just like you did when you wanted to take your troll credit for your doppelganger of me. Typical bs as usual.

Oh, and see comment #202.

A fact that they sell data, yes. That they sell your personal identifiable data? No. One of the things causing huge problems for manufacturers these days is that they seem to target 6 months for refreshes, or even a year... it's just too soon. I'm still going on my Galaxy Nexus and I'm only now getting to the point of actually needing a replacement. I imagine newer devices might last significantly longer and be even more future proof than my old phone. Same for PCs. My main workstation at home was built around 2007 timeframe and other than a graphics card replacement has needed nothing (I'm considering switching over to SSDs now but that's a want, not a need.) Expectations from customers to just throw money away for no need are just wrong by the industry. Sure, some people buy phones every few months, Apple customers are willing to pay for anything Apple every year, but the rest of the market (vast majority of customers) are not like that. Until these companies get in line with the market they're going to continue to struggle. This started as some companies made great profits for a couple of years but the market is simply saturated at this point and competition is very tough... the weaker will die (and sadly it seems HTC is one of those.)

Yea Apple is much better in that aspect. Apple respects their consumers and doesn't track their users. *sarcasm off*

Apple just takes the money up front, right? They charge you more than anyone else for less hardware. Apple doesn't come out and say it, but they may as well say we are going to charge you this much, if you don't like then you will be back, because if you want are software and services and want to use our ecosystem, then you will pay what we want no matter what.

Just to be clear: if you think google is the only one that steals you're privacy then you're more than delirious.

At least Android doesnt have a back door to the NSA. Also let me ask you this, if your devic eis conencted to the internet; how much privacy do you have? NONE!!! You're a fool. As long as you use someone elses device, nothing is private. In order to live in this world, you give up a significat amount of provacy. Just to have a credit card, you give up the privacy to how you pay your bills. To have a bank account, you give up your privacy on how you spend your money? To buy a home you give up the privacy of people knowing where you live and when you go in an out. When you swipe your card at a retailer, you give up the privacy on what you bought and how much it costs. When you make a phone call or send a text, you give up your privacy about who yu are talkign too, where you and them live or locations you frequent and what you are actually taking about. When you join the digital world or automation, you have no privacy. See, I just showed you through simple terms and without calling you a name, how stupid you are. At least on Android,, when I install an app; I know exactly what it will do; what it access and how. With Apple you have no idea. You trust Apple? Good. I trust no corportaion because NONE of them have your best interest in mind. What they ahve is how much money they can make, especially if you are stupid. See Google makes less money because, we are all much smarter. The vast majority of us know, I dont have to buy a $800 phoen to enjoy the same benefits. Sure I may suffer some quality in build...mostly looks because I can drop a plastic phone 100's of time and it will never break while an iphone gets damaged on a single drop. For $400 I can buy a phone, or tablet or PC that will do everything any Apple offers will do. Not everyone has to have what is considered the top product. Also, products that sell at high costs where there is limited competition, will always make more money due to far less overhead. For $780 for my SG Edge Plus vs the $799 iPhone 6 Plus I get so much more. I get the top of everything in its class, not just looks. With iPhone you get good looks and association with a bunch of senseless morons.

There is no such thing as privacy on the internet, ask the users of Ashley Madison. http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/class-action-lawsuit-claims-apple-sells-customer-data

So does Apple and Microsoft If you don't want that you have to make your own OS Or your own version of Linux or Android (without Play Services)

China has kicked Apple in the past because they claimed Apple was stealing data.

Apple was probably stealing the data that the Chinese stole from someone else. :)

They make money, take it easy. LOL Samsung make a lot of money. But not huge rip-off money , because of big competition. And huge R&D investment , giving the best new tech to their custommers. Well Apple don't need to do that because you buy even old tech with pleasure. By the way , why you iboys and the tech media (iboys) are so happy of the profit of the seller, and happy that you are well ripped-of and have no choice????? ROTFL

and what good comes out of Apple being the only one making money? what's the benefit for you as a consumer? In my opinion this is bad news for EVERYONE including iOS users

33. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Maybe it's time OEMs started going back to differentiation instead of "specs, QHD screen, and big phones." It's not really bad news since Android has a huge audience in the cheap phone market.

Android Phone makers do t care about the customers, they just have to operate a razor thin margins keep up with Apple. They can't come in the game asking for Apple prices. Samsung is trying and failing.

True. Every new tech implemented or gimmick added have just two purposes: Get the consumer to buy and the competition to crash.

See the truth about what? The fact that I don't have to buy a 700 dollar phone that's really only worth 5 to be happy? How can you be so happy overpaying by the amount that Apple charges? I've never seen such a cult that loves to give away their hard earned money for a less useful device.

And what is the truth??? LOL Why should buyers be proud with the money the seller makes???? This is the dumbest thing to do. And iboys and the so called tech media are doing it, LOL

The numbers are right there showing that some make money with Android. Sounds like you and Bobby are the ones who don't want to see the truth.

They are making money. I still see money being made. Did you make $1M this year working everyday? My company just made 1M this week along. When I cash in this year, I'm gonna make $1M too. WILL YOU? Corporations are suppose to make money. But at least corps like Samsung, and Microsoft actually give you something for your money. Apple is liek Intel. make a good product for the lowest amount and mark it up as high as 1000% and rake in money.
