Deal: Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium no longer costs $1,000 in the US

Released stateside at the end of July, the Xperia XZ2 Premium is one of Sony's most expensive smartphones to date, costing $1,000 minus 1 cent. For a limited time, though, a couple of US retailers are selling the XZ2 Premium for $899.99, thus letting you save $100 on it.

The two retailers that are currently offering the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium at $100 off are B&H Photo Video and Focus Camera - here and here. Both allow you to purchase the handset in either black or silver. B&H says that this deal is valid only until November 3, while Focus Camera doesn't mention when the offer expires. Meanwhile, bigger retailers like Amazon and Best Buy are still asking $999.99 for this Sony phone.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium has some key features that arguably justify its high price. For example, the device sports a 5.8-inch display with 2160 x 3840 pixels (that's 4K), while packing 6 GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and a dual rear camera capable of shooting super-slow-motion video at 960 fps. The handset runs Android 8 Oreo, but an official update to Android 9 Pie is expected to be rolled out in November.
