Deal: BlackBerry PRIV on sale for $289.99

TCL's recent announcement of the BlackBerry KEYone effectively spurred many good deals for older smartphones previously launched by the Canadian company.

BlackBerry officially did a flash sale of its Passport model, which was followed by a $279.99 deal on eBay for the BlackBerry PRIV. However, big demand for the latter apparently caused the reseller to hike the price to $329.99, so let us present you with a better discount for the BB flagship of 2015.

Dailysteals.com is currently offering a brand-new PRIV with a full package of accessories for $289.99. The model is unlocked, but keep in mind that the one offered on the site is only compatible with GSM networks (it won't work with carriers like Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular).

If you're interested in buying the device at this reduced price, follow the link to Dailysteals below.

cleaning out inventory......had one..keys too cramped, got very hot even with marshmellow...have the dtek60...better device

3. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Yup DTEK60 is a far better device. The Priv feels like a phone still in beta. It's the 807 processor that makes it get hot. Had the same thing with the Moto X Pure Edition.

Lol, it has an SD 808 processor, not 807. As a matter of fact, there isn't even an SD 807 processor in existence, iirc. And the heat issue is hit or miss, as mine and plenty of others that I know that own a PRIV no longer have the heat issue as of marshmallow. At least try and do the research before commenting on something you've never owned or used, so you don't look so ignorant. Incoming rant from you because I corrected your ignorance is expected, most likely saying something like "you know what I was referring to, blah blah blah", when we both know that you thought your post was full of factual information.

10. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Actually, the SD 808 does heat up because it does not throttle like the refined 810 on my 6P. And yes, I meant 808, not 807. That was a typo, although I'm sure you are already swarming around it like a shark smelling blood. The heat issue isn't a hit or miss. You are once again in denial.

That wasn't a typo. You were ignorant of the facts, like you always are. The 808 heating issue on the PRIV has been handled since the marshmallow update. The only time the device really now heats up is during extensive gaming. The issue is hit or miss now, and you'd know that if you actually owned the device, as opposed to speaking out of ignorance.

18. Mxyzptlk unregistered

I guess you know then. I forgot I was arguing with a brick wall. I call bs. The Moto X Pure Edition has the same processor and it heats up as well when doing something that taxes the phone. Btw, kudos to contradicting yourself. Maybe you should stop trying to paint a rosey picture of it.

I know that you were being ignorant of the facts again, yes. I keep forgetting that I'm dealing with a habitual liar that will spew untruths when he's proven wrong. I don't care what you call. You've never ever used a PRIV to even know what I'm talking about, much less a PRIV that's had software updates to control the heating issue. But kudos on still making yourself look ignorant. Maybe you should stop trying to troll something that you don't like so much, and put all that negative energy into something positive.

28. Mxyzptlk unregistered

I'm a liar? Lol, you're just bumburned because I spoke the truth. You don't know a thing about what devices I've used and haven't used, so get over it. Like I said before, I have experience with the SD 808 chip. Not my fault if it's not as refined as the 810 chip in my Nexus 6P. Maybe you should get over it because not everyone is going to see your view.

Lol, hell yes you're a liar. And you're seething with anger right now because I've called you out on your ignorance once again. You already admitted to never using BB10 and BlackBerry Secured Android devices, but I'm sure you're about to pull an "Oliver North" and say that you have no recollection of that. I don't care about your Nexus 6P, all I care about are the devices that I own and use, and I know that the hearing issue on the PRIV has been mostly dealt with, with the marshmallow update. You wouldn't know, because you've never used one. Maybe YOU should get over the fact that not everyone is going to see your view and just accept the fact that your ignorance will be corrected on the internet.

It never bothered me even if the phone got twice the hot. I'd now I'm getting pure raw Cpu power than throttling junk. I'd just put a cover so makes no difference. S808 is a very good Cpu vs the Pos S810.

Dtek is ugly looking, the Z5 from BB is super sexy,, only crap is its a mid tier trash phone.

BlackBerry doesn't make a Z5. They make a Z10, but I doubt that's what you're referring to.

Oops Z10. That's a fkn super sexy phone. Just like Sony design. I just don't understand why didn't BB make the flagship off this. I would whole heartily buy it know. I still have my 8900 Bbs well made stainless steel version.

Z10 design was nice at the time of its launch but it's now outdated. More specifically, the bezels are too wide.

Great price for a very capable handset that has become better and better after the marshmallow update and monthly security patches. Love the pkb on it, even though it is smaller than what I'd prefer. But as I've said before concerning these these deals, this needs to be the price of the PRIV everywhere going forward.

4. Mxyzptlk unregistered

On sale? This should be normal price. There are far more capable phones out there for the same price or more.

More capable in the same price and spec range is subjective, especially when you take into account what the PRIV offers that the others don't. If you're going to spend more, it better offer more than the PRIV does, and that part can be said for any handset, not just the PRIV.

11. Mxyzptlk unregistered

The 6P costs more, but offers more. FFS, a great camera, UNIVERSALLY UNLOCKED, already on Nougat. Speaking of Nougat, now is the perfect time to admit that I was correct in saying Nougat won't be seen on the Priv in some time, if ever.

The PRIV offers a great camera, an innovative, touch enabled, physical keyboard, and fast monthly security patches that rival (and as of late, surpasses) Googles rate of speed with monthly security patches. It offers unparalleled security when compared to other Android devices, including the Nexus 6P. So you can't logically say that the PRIV doesn't offer just as much, if not more, than other Android handsets in its price range, including the Nexus 6P. Btw, I noticed how you had to go out of the PRIV's price range to prove attempt to prove your point, lol. And speaking of Nougat, post a link proving that the PRIV won't ever see it.

19. Mxyzptlk unregistered

You don't get to tell me what I can and can't say. Ever. If I want to say that the Priv doesn't really offer as much value as other comparable devices, then I can say that. It's my opinion. You're just mad because the 6P is still very much relevant while the Priv is long forgotten. http://www.ebay.com/itm/162421131884 You were saying?

I'll tell you whatever I want, and there isn't a thing that you can do about it. Ever. If I want to dispel your BS with facts and tell it straight to you and correct your ignorance, I most certainly will. The PRIV definitely offers as much value as comparable devices, and that's a fact, whether you choose to be ignorant of it or not. You're just mad because no matter how hard you try and change the facts to suit your narrative, the PRIV is still a relevant device. Lol, I said post a link to prove that the PRIV won't ever see Nougat, and you deflect by posting an eBay listing of the Nexus 6P. As usual, you can't back up your BS with facts.

Again, just in case you didn't understand it the first time, you don't get to tell me what I can and can't say. Ever. Get over it and stop it with the keyboard warrior act because you are a coward. If you want to get pummeled because you want to be a butthurt ignoramus, then go right ahead. I don't mind putting you in your place and watching you run with your tail tucked between your legs. The Priv, imo, does not offer as much value as a device like the Nexus 6P. Show me a link saying that it will. I posted the link to show you that you can get a Nexus 6P at the same price.

Again, just in case you didn't get it through that empty thick skull of yours, I'll tell you what I want, when I want, and you can't do anything about it. Ever. Get over it and stop acting like everyone here doesn't already know that you're a cowardly keyboard warrior that lives to talk smack from behind the safety of mommy and daddy's computer. And you couldn't pummel your way out of a paper bag, much less me, so cut the ignorant BS. I love dragging around the comments section and then watching you flee in terror and hide it behind some BS excuse of "I got tired blah blah blah." I don't care what you feel offers more value than the other, as I use what I see fit for my needs, and not yours. Lol, typical mxy. Asked to show a link to back up his claims and deflects because he can't.

For 290 bucks, thiss is a steal... just as the sales website Dailysteals denotes it in itself. I'm bookmarking the URL!

The SD 808 is terrible in battery life though. Speaking from personal experience

20. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Same here despite what an overzealous user up above would say. The 808 has a paltry battery life and a tendency to get rather warm. Fact.

23. meanestgenius

Posts: 21754; Member since: May 28, 2014

Speaking from experience, the software optimizations and power management that BlackBerry has provided the PRIV have increased its battery life a great deal, despite what some overzealous trolls that have never ever even used the device have to say. Fact.

27. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Speaking from ignorance over experience. I think some people get it mixed up, hence why they are getting put in their place. Some people are just bumburned because people are speaking the truth about the Priv and its unoptimized SD 808 chip.

32. meanestgenius

Yes, you are speaking from ignorance as opposed to experience. That's evident in this very article when you didn't even know which SoC the PRIV is using, so you made up an imaginary one that doesn't exist, lol. You didn't even know that the PRIV ran Android until Subie and I corrected your ignorance. Your ignorance is also evident in you not being aware of the optimizations made to the PRIV with the marshmallow update regarding the 808 SoC, because you've never ever used one before.
