Data-saving Twitter Lite app spreading to 24 new countries

1comment

The data-saving Twitter Lite app is now available to 24 additional markets on Google Play. The service, which started off as a mobile website earlier this year, aims to be light and quick to load in order to ensure a fast and efficient connection even on slow 2G networks.

It debuted exclusively in the Philippines but will now spread to multiple countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South and North America. Here's the complete list: Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Malaysia, Nigeria, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Serbia, El Salvador, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Tanzania, and Venezuela.

If you're living in one of those countries, feel free to head over to Google Play and give Twitter Lite a try. It has a file size of under 3MB, so it won't take up much of your storage space. If you're looking to save some data but the country you're living in is not on the list, just head over to mobile.twitter.com.
