Daniel Craig was against Sony and Samsung phones in Spectre because "James Bond only uses the best"

The amount of money discussed for Android product placements in the new James Bond movie Spectre was staggering. Daniel Craig, who stars as the suave and debonair British spy, was offered $5 million to be seen with the Sony Xperia Z4 in the movie. Sony offered $18 million for marketing and promotion for the film, a figure trumped by a $50 million bid by Samsung...

Well, I want the best actor for 007 but Craig is not the best. What can we do now?

I've read the article n haven't seen where did Craig said that Sony or Samsung wasn't the best or anything related to it, they may have said that they don't wanna use Sony but didn't say anything about the brand nor for Samsung they haven't mentioned it at all n they haven't specified anything that they wanna use in precise, so after all they used z5 guess they where happy with the deal.

There is no real debate, Sony Pictures owns the James Bond movies and puts Sony phones in the movies. Simple.

I seriously hope this sheep doesn't ask for an iPhone. Being that Bond is a field operative, you'd think he'd want something with: 1) long lasting battery for extended missions 2) hi-res camera for surveillance 3) compact size (look at his gun, for God's sake) 4) resistance to the elements The only phones that match these criteria are a few off-brand phones, Sony's compact series, and the S6 Active. If Craig says an iPhone, then he clearly doesn't understand why Bond uses the equipment that he does...because it serves the mission's purpose--not because it's a vanity piece!

funny how the title of the article is "Daniel Craig was against Sony and Samsung phones in Spectre because "James Bond only uses the best"" when this only shows that they weren't interested in Sony... But PA still found away tho throw sammy under the buss. lol love this site but hate the increasingly misleading titles of articles.. Thats not good journalism.

Given that Q and R supply Bond with such diverse gadgets, it would suprise me that he would use any phone made by a mainstream manufacturer at all.

Frankly, there is no one best smartphone. Rather, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. In the end, it comes down to personal preference. Personally, I couldn't care less if James Bond(even if he was real) uses a Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry or Apple phone. James Bond's product placement has no affect on which smartphone I will purchase. But, I know the latter can't be said for everyone because product placement does affect the unlearned.

Yes there is. I guess it depends on what definition of "best". As an Adjective: 1. of the most excellent, effective, or desirable type or quality. "the best pitcher in the league" synonyms: finest, greatest, top, foremost, leading, preeminent, premier, prime, first, chief, principal, supreme, of the highest quality, superlative, par excellence, unrivaled, second to none, without equal, nonpareil, unsurpassed, peerless, matchless, unparalleled, unbeaten, unbeatable, optimum, optimal, ultimate, incomparable, ideal, perfect That seems to describe several phones, but only one tops them all. The Galaxy Note is the best phone period. Out of all the phones that have tried to copy its size, none can offer what it does as far as its featureset. It is one of a kind. In fact, many tablets dont even offer what the Note does. So yea, there can be a one best phone even with weaknesses. Because "best" isnt based on some convoluted subjective fanboy definition of what they feel is best. There are options that are best even if we dont think so.

For $50M I would have jumped on the Samsung offer. $50M to actually just be seen with the best phone money can buy? What the hell was he thinking passing that up? Oh wait, he's probably an iFan. It's Bond after all. Everything he touch becomes a slutty piece of property. I wouldnt want to see him with an Xperia Z5, or a Note or an S6 Edge. Bond is a arrogant type of person, who is selfish, cunning, a great liar and a playboy, pom-pus and a narcissist. Sounds like an Apple fan 100%. Yes Bond, get an iPhone, it fits you perfectly.

its funny that they say that, sony is probably the classiest phone he could have... iphones are too common, samsungs menus are too fruity and colorful, the only other alternative i would say lg or motorola

This story doesn't matter anymore because Sony pictures won't produce the next Bond movie, Sam Mendes won't direct another Bond film (thanks god) and Daniel Craig is apparently fed up with the role...

He wanted to use the most exclusive phone in the world, not talking about the Aston Martin phone or a Vertu or a Tag Heuer phone, I'm talking about the OP2, hardest thing to buy.
