Essential updates their camera app with improved photo organization and more!

The Essential phone was one of the most important launches of 2017, but one of the biggest disappointments at launch was the camera. Since launch, Essential has been making steady improvements to the app, and they are back at it again.

Among the improvements are an update to the camera roll which will allow you to more easily find media of different types with dedicated buttons for things like Slo-Mo, 360 shots, and Burst mode shots. They have also made improvements to 360-degree videos by allowing you to save, share, and edit them as Tiny Planets. And there is a very handy update to burst shots by saving them as a group. Essential also mentioned various bug fixes and improvements to stability.

Overall, you should be getting a more organized experience. The update is live now for the Essential phone via the Play Store.

My God man!! They just updated this device last week!! They are the company that keeps on giving. Take heed other OEMs. Follow in Essential's foot steps, its what us as consumer want

And please take only inspiration in the software side of things. We do not need another notch, poor camera, no headphone jack, mono recording device. The software side is impressive, the hardware one is not.

Maybe look into the phone a bit more. It uses Four microphones for beam forming sounds as it's recorded. It's really good at that I can surely say.

Oh, I don't care if it has like 20 mics on that thing and it's using magic dust for processing. I care for results and those are baaaaaaaaaaaad ... and mono.

Didn't realize you were a troll, sorry. Gave you the benefit of the doubt before realizing. Troll on my little friend

I guess the quality of the sound is not important to everyone. Video = image + sound ... I guess I was wrong. Seriously, you calling sound recording on Essential anything but unacceptable is pretty sad. I criticise stuff I own, I don't see a reason to turn blind just because I bought that thing.

I'm eyeing eBay for one myself. As long as the updates & support keeps coming I know I won't regret buying it.

I was eyeing a OnePlus 6 but I'm starting to think that maybe I want to grab an Essential instead. It's about $200 cheaper here (comparing to the 128GB OnePlus) and I greatly prefer the build and design of the Essential...
