I don't understand why these companies must name their products after one another. Samsung names their phablet series Note, then Xiaomi releases their phablet series and names it Redmi Note, not to mention the Meizu Note series. Apple names their phablet series Plus, now Samsung names the new S6 phablet version Plus. Coincidence? All these companies are all more than capable and have the resources of being original, but why follow each other? To take software and hardware features from one another I expect and don't mind because competition is alway good for the consumer, but when it comes down to a simple naming scheme that doesn't affect the consumer they can't come up with anything else?

Dude, Samsung came out with the plus name 4years ago. Let me guess, you think Apple started the phablet category too, right? And, now other companies are copying their 5.5in screen size.

Could it be because words like 'Note' and 'Plus' are quite descriptive when it comes to phablets - them being bigger than "regular sized" phones - and people are already used to the naming scheme, so it's easy to get what a new product is about just by it's name? "Keeping it simple" for the consumer and the company (no need to come up with better names). But I agree with you, the common naming scheme as it is, is getting quite boring.

I guess no one is buying the 128 GB variant of the S6? Seems odd Samsung would skip on the top tier storage level for their S6 Plus.
