Contest confirms Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus name, Middle East store posts specs

There are always the skeptics out there who won't believe anything you tell them. Just in case there are some skeptics out there who aren't convinced that Samsung is about to deliver a device called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, here is the proof directly from the company. It seems that Samsung Philippines is running a contest with the winner getting a chance to see a local version of the manufacturer's Unpacked event...

3000 mAh non-removable battery = FAIL I can understand that decision with S6 since its targeted to masses but Note / Note Edge Series is for power users. 3000mAh is simply not enough.

They should went 3500mah for edge plus. Hopefully note will have 4100mah like in first leaks.

I am getting battery backup of about 2 days with moderate to heavy usage(screen on time of 8+ hrs, playing highend games as well) in my S6 Edge which only has 2600 mAh, the 0-100% battery recharge duration is 80 mins. We see trollers in every article but i surely believe Samsung has achieved a great combination of keeping the profile slim and managing a great battery life.

LOL......8+ hrs screen on time with high end games and two days battery back up. and some how I am the one trolling ?! Please post some screen shot of battery usage stats. I will issue a public apology standing on one leg while wearing women's red thong & lipstick with waxed legs and admitting Mxy is my idol if you could prove that.

It is a 14nm chipset and it consumes less power...grow up ...Effectively the battery capacity will be equal to 2600mAh *1.4 which is around 3600 mAh. I can post the screenshot of it in couple of days after I use it in the pattern I've told above.

He has a point, there is no chance that is true, my wife's S6 edge doesn't last nearly that long and she has barely any apps on it other than the standard google/SS ones. Samsung are stupid as hell in this regards because they want to attract the dumbest members of the Apple crowd by doing what Apple is doing but in the end those idiots will stay with Apple because that is all they know. Even Apple isn't full retard like Samsung and is willing to increase the depth of their phone for gimmicks like pressure sensitivity (back to 2006 marketing bullets). Samsung is apparently more than happy to drop an insane battery capacity for absolutely NOTHING. Then they wonder why sales have dropped so much, as if removing versatility for juvenile crap like "super thin and light" would sell more handsets in a group of fans that really couldn't give a f*** about those bullet points.

But this news is about s6 edge plus not note 5.. s6 edge plus isnt for power users.. and i still believe the note 5 will carry at least 3500+ battery..

Lets hope you're correct but the leaks thus far prove otherwise. S6 Edge is just a different name for Note 5 Edge.

This article is not about the Note or Note edge. It clearly reads "Galaxy S6 Edge Plus." Did you not read it?

The problem is, on contract in the UK the S6 edge is around £46-£51 a month no extra cost for the phone. Them prices are just outrageous!!! So how the hell is anyone gonna get the S6 edge plus? It's gonna be about £60 a month on contact. Absolutely messed up.

Buy outright m8. I never phones on contract. You'll always end up paying more. You can get S6 Edge for £450 ish in UK right now. And lets say you buy PAYG sim for £12 a month. So all in all you are just spending. £738 in two years while with that 'contract' you'll end up spending £1,104!!!! Not to mention you have the freedom to change phones in between two years if you want since you arent tied down to a contract.

£12 a month... unless you actually use your phone.

How about doing some research, eh ? Right now I am getting 500 mins, Unlimited texts, free unlimited same carrier calls and 3GB data on £12/month rolling contract. I would've gotten even better deal if I had signed up for 12 month contract.

Thank God. Someone speaks sense! It baffles me why anyone would want to buy contract when you have the protection of buying off eBay and then carriers such as 3, Giffgaff or Tesco. I purchased a 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 2 weeks ago for £280 brand new. I am on the same tariff as you on Giffgaff. My friend bought one a few days ago from the o2 shop and is paying £42.50 a month excluding the extra £10 he pays for insurance.

Where did you find brand new S6 for £280 ?! I just gifted my fiance for £380 couple of months ago :/ I might buy one for myself if its that cheap. Tell your friend if he wants insurance he's probably better off getting through his/her bank account. Almost all banks offer 'premium' bank accounts where they charge you £10 (approx) a month and not only offer you insurance for your device (in some cases all mobile devices of family member) but also offer euro insurance, love film movies, airport lounge access etc. Paying £10 a month for only a mobile insurance is horrendous.

Things must have changed since I left the UK. £45 for unlimited everything was the best deal I could get then. It's about that much here (Switzerland) for 60mins, unlimited texts and 1gb a month. No kind of a "deal" at all.

s6 plus and 6s plus. Samsung is just so original... stomping behind boring half eaten fruit. Fire all the decision makers for god's sake. + no sd cards, no camera button but useless fingerprint scanner, non removable battery, those two lines at the bottom, ...

The "Plus" moniker was used by Samsung long before the rotting half eaten fruity company started using them. Remember the Samsung Galaxy S2 plus???

Don't tell the sheep that. They think Apple invented everything and I am not even joking.

samsung is using the plus branding since galaxy s1 http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S-Plus_id5372

Sorry, iSheep, but the "Plus" moniker was stolen by Apple from Samsung....just like Apple stole the "iPhone" name from Cisco. Nice try, iFanboy....

Samsung has used the "Plus" name since 2011 in about twenty different phones. Apple once again steals/copies and makes it their own as their invention.

The prices of the s6 edge has just been discounted innmy country. Actuall, the edge now costs just $15 more than the normal non-edge version. Pretty sick if you take into consideration the fact that the difference used to be a whooping $150.

Many people including myself are NOT buying the S6, S6 Edge or Note 5 due to the stolen key features of the removable battery and SD card expansion. I suggest many voice their displeasure by writing to Samsung headquarters at: 95, Samsung 2-ro, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, 446-811 You can also email then at: foundry@samsung.com However, I do strongly recommend writing them via postal mail as physical letters can't be 'just deleted' and thus would get more attention. I have written myself already. The current USPS international letter rate is $1.42. Not much to spend in order to voice a great displeasure. Furthermore, would be much appreciated if this was copied and pasted to many tech blogs / forums / etc. A great thanks to anyone that does this (and of course to whom writes Samsung as well).

Where do you think Samsung gets the recycled paper for its devices box and manuals? Your letter goes straight to the shredder and gets reconstituted in to the materials for them to earn just a glimmer of redemption in some tree huggers mind so they don't feel soo bad about the device that they purchased from Samsung... If you think that Samsung gives a dogs bowl-movement about what you think then your just fooling yourself... Samsung will continue selling devices without SD card readers and removable batteries, despite your displeasure, for as long as they continue to produce a profit...
