Cingular introduces Push-To-Talk service

Cingular Wireless has announced the launch of the Push-To-Talk (PTT) service for its subscribers. The service has an inviting-looking interface with a handy 'Buddy List' that enables users to see if the other person is available to talk or not, fairly easy group calling as well as a possibility to switch a PTT call over to the cellular network. Cingular's customers can get unlimited Push-To-Talk minutes for $9.99 per line for national plans, or for $19.99 for all lines in a family talk plan. At present only the LG F7200 is offered for the new service. The slide-designed dual-band GSM phone features:

  • dual 65k TFT displays
  • Bluetooth

  • OpenWave Browser

  • SMS/EMS/MMS/IM support

  • Push-to-Talk button

  • built-in speakerphone
