But it looks like they already have a working "skin"...so why post it as a kickstarter project? Just list it on the market, and if it's good, people will pay for it even if it is in Alpha, if not in Beta. It's not like they are making a tablet or anything where you need fundings for manufacturing like the Pebble watch.

It seems like they are using kickstarter as an advertisment platform...

The funding most likely pays for salary since this needs full attention.

This also could be just be pre-alpha. From what I saw in the video it wasn't fluent and smooth to operate but the launcher UI itself was beautiful and utilized the whole tablet screen which is important.

So far I didn't see any interaction with the Netflix widget allowing you to jump directly to a video via home screen so they could possibly be still working on that.

No money for them! It doesn't work on Apple devices!

LOL, it's not their fault that Apples iOS doesn't support almost any form of widget/homescreens.

Your avatar reminds me of the t-mobile model in her new biker outfit - without the head.

$5 pledged, sorry, but stock (pretty much) ICS is just too pretty. That and my tablet has 768 rez screen or something like that, not 800, so I'm not sure if it'll work, I'm sure they'll make it work down the line.
