Carbon backup from Koush gets renamed Helium

0. phoneArena posted on 04 May 2013, 15:03

Koush is one of the stars of the Android development world. He is the dev behind ROM Manager and ClockworkMod, and his latest effort has been to build the backup solution that Android has been lacking. Google has done well to backup what apps you have installed, but not the data that goes along with those apps. So, Koush made Carbon. Unfortunately, there were some trademark issues, so he has had to change the name of the app to Helium...

Who in the right mind would confuse "Carbon" with "Carbonite"??? For those who don't know, Carbonite is the company that asked Koush to change the name.... Too many patent trolls these days....

Helium is FANTASTIC! I used it to transfer my App data from my HTC Amaze to my HTC One and it worked like a charm. Directions are simple and everything takes only minutes! I highly recommend it!

As much as love Koush's work (I have actually bought several of their items, more than once), I have to say I was let down by the developers this time. I'm sticking to G cloud Backup and period.
