Can Lenovo and Motorola really challenge Apple and Samsung?

Now that Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola Mobility from Google is complete, we have a new (relatively giant) smartphone vendor that's ready to take on Apple and Samsung...

I NEVER ASKED ABOUT iPHONE 6 BENCHMARKS. Or for you to show proof about said benchmarks against Android phones. PAY ATTENTION. I asked you to SHOW PROOF that you have praised other OS'S/OEM's, which YOU HAVE FAILED TO DO. How could you POSSIBLY get iPhone 6 BENCHMARKS from "show proof that you've praised other OS's/OEM's other than iOS/Apple? Seems the only "twit" here is the one that looks back at you in the mirror.

Would you PLEASE stop responding to him? You do realize he is purposefully being obtuse/misinterpreting arguments in order to get a rise out of Android, Win, BB, and Motorola fans? It should be obvious given his shallow and terse posts to anything. There's so much garbage in the comments section because of these fanboy wars....

Another 5 years we will all be buying foreign based smartphones.

Samsung, Sony, HTC, and LG are foreign based companies. We already are.

Also, Apple is a foreign company for most of the people in this world...

I don't think so yet. Moto still has yet to even hold a candle to LG and HTC. Moto has made some inroads since Google but even with Lenovo's help, Apple and Samsung still have the marketing push and resources to have more mindshare to sell more devices than any other company.

The thing with Apple is that whatever they announce it only brings them success.

I sure hope so, the more players in the market is better for all of us consumers.

Motorola is better than Samsung now in my view, they offer stock android devices super fast with there updates. They offer a bespoke service like no other company to design your own phone and what materials you want to use leather, wood etc. This day and age at the minute if you have a Samsung device it's got to be class because it's Samsung that's what people think. NOT ME I HATE THE BLOATWARE ON THERE DEVICES.

Used to be a big fan of HTC but sadly they seem to have lost focus. IMHO Moto makes the cleanest looking handsets plus barely skinned OS means it runs faster and gets quicker updates. I think the only one they seem to need to look out for is LG. We should be hearing more about what they are up to because the G3 looks great. Either way, here's to the future.

I have to admit that the PB&J imagery is clever. Both companies are on the rise. They will do big things togther.

Agreed. The global market is rip for the harvest. It will take a few years, but I see only good things coming from this.

Moto had fallen so far down the ladder, they will never be able to get out of it. Lets all consider how big of a flop the Razr HD series as well as the Moto Ultra/ Maxx series was.

Yeah, no. Motorola has a big chance of going back to the top, specially with Lenovo's assistance & resources.

Motorola can now easily expand to bigger markets like india or china, I can bet a product like the Moto G is going to be loved.
