UTstarcom had several new CDMA handsets to introduce during CTIA 2005, but unfortunately nothing exciting so we will not spend a lot of time here.

The 7000 series -  CDM-7000, CDM-7100 and CDM-7200 – are dual-band CDMA plus AMPS phones with clamshell design and are targeted at the entry level.

CDM-7100 adds dual color screens and BREW.

  • 65k CSTN (128 x 160 pixels) main display
  • 4k CSTN  (96 x 64 pixels) sub-display


CDM-7200 adds VGA camera with flash and optical zoom


CDM-9200 is a clamshell-designed dual-band CDMA plus AMPS phone. The main features are:

  • 262k color TFT main display
  • 65k color STN sub-display
  • built-in VGA (640x480) camera with CMOS sensor
  • BREW 2.1.3
  • WAP 2.0 Internet browser
  • SMS/EMS/MMS support
  • GPSOne
  • Voice-activated dialing
