WIFI? ......UMMMM.......Do you have a laptop? Or do you like sitting in a coffee shop or on your couch trying to see a phone screen instead of a computer?

does anyone realize vzw does not make phones. blackberry is in the business of selling phones and data plans as well which is why they require blackberry phones to have a blackberry plan. so why then would blackberry want thier phone to have wifi. has any black berry device been wifi capable. and when your on the road and need email wifi isnt going to help.

Wow! Holy F Wow! I've learned a small bit from this forum, but mainly laughed my a** off to the point of nearly peeing myself. Most all of you are a bunch of tards, but I'm with you! I think it's funny as hell, and for the conservative, fairy, bible-thumping, homos complaining about the slamming and slander going on here, 3 words: Take A Hike! What else are we suppose to do here, sound like a bunch of sissy geeks that can't crack a joke or have a little laughter in our lives.. If you're not ok with the dialog here, keep it to yourself, as nobody cares what you have to say. Go to a forum with other ferries that feel the same way. With that said, I am a huge proponent of the Blackberry. Currently using the 8310 Curve through ATT. I just recently downloaded and installed the East Asia version of OS 4.5 It is actually pretty bad a**. The BB is the one of the most feature-rich and powerful devices. I may even switch over to Verizon with all you other Verizon freaks, just to get the Storm. The Bold is an amazing phone from the research I have done. The storm is equally as good with the exception of a different layout and a true full web-browser like the iPhone. To clarify a few points, and provide my opinion just as you all have, I leave you with the following: Data Plan: ATT's is cheapest, and NO, idiot who said you have to have a Data Plan for every BB, You are wrong. I have the Curve with ATT and I can do all the same crap you can with your $50 data plan. Try forwarding all your emails to your VZW provided mms address, you will get them to your phone as an mms for the price that you are already paying for your messaging plan. Secondly, you can send mms's to people's email address. Thirdly, you can text Yellow Pages or Google and they will respond back with an answer/adress/phone#, directions/multiple locations... All that for free. If you have no life, and you really have to watch all ur BS TV and crap, then sure, pay for the data plan. That's your choice and right. But don't sit around and bitch about how expensive it is and blah, blah, blah. Nobodies making you do anything.... The choice is solely yours. Ne ways, as for Wifi, who gives a s***, if the cellular network is strong and fast enough to support it, and you want all those extra services, well then sign up for the data plan, and be done with it, otherwise go cry to your mom and join those other geeks on the ferry forum. Wifi is cool if you are wanting to download/stream something very large, and you are at a buddies house, your house, school, or work. Otherwise, wait till you get home, download it on your Desktop, then sync it on over, it's really that easy... Some people just don't get it, and they never will. They will always be dependent on others for advice and reassurance and continue to be idiot fair weather fans. Go away, and I blame your parents for all of your pathetic little idiosyncrasies! Carry on with the slamming and slanderous dialog! Life is to short to sit around with a straight face! -Peace

Are there people out there that actually do that? Do they really forward emails to MMS and send from MMS to avoid paying for a data plan to get email? That is the most ghetto backwards things I have ever read. Scrape a couple bucks together and see what a real Blackberry user can do. Send & receive emails instantly & securely. Sync calendar and contacts with your laptop & desktop. Get on the web when you need it. A BB can actually make you more efficient if its used right. I guess if people are using MMS to get emails & skirt a measly data plan price they probably can't afford a laptop or a desktop that needs syncing. Of course those people should spend their time making money and not trying to figure out cheap ways around data service prices. Maybe they should get a free phone until they can afford a real one. I know a BB is a status symbol in some circles, but using MMS to skirt a data plan is hilarious.

Ok, I need some help deciding which phone I'm gonna get, the Omnia or Storm. I've never had a Blackberry. I've used to have the original Moto Q, so I had Windows Mobile before. Which is better the better OS?

wifi would have been the dealbreaker with the iphone admit it or not guys...the ipod's even have wifi- although its not really a big deal, it wouldve made the storm look 10 times better- dont get me wrong im a storm fan, im getting it the day it comes out but it wouldve been a cool touch- and no u arent required to get internet plan with smartphones on tmobile..my friend has a curve and no internet plan just the wifi...but thats a waste of a blackberry-nonetheless, wifi wouldve been an even bigger deal for the iphone/storm comparison.

Once you have a real phone you would understand. WiFi is makes apps such Symella and Symtorrent so much easier to use. Who else on here can actually use P2P clients on their handset?

would you all take a long drink of stfu about wifi, THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE BITCHING IS BECAUSE YOU WANT TO HAVE EVERYTHING, dont sugarcoat it and tell me its "cause its faster" because while it is noticably faster (at least going from rev 0 devices like the samsung i760 or the 6800) that speed IS NOT going to allow you to do anything else on your phone that you couldnt without wifi are you really not going to buy the storm just because it doesnt have wifi? really? before you reply to me, sit and think about it for a second, take a real deep breath, then slap yourself for being stupid and move on with your life. wifi, while a nice feature to have, would have been redundant and stupid to add, because a, YOU HAVE TO GET A DATA PLAN, you are always connected reguardless of being in wifi range, and b. it would have bumped the cost of the phone up, maybe not a whole lot, but you are all bitching about the price being too high and not buying it and not having wifi and not buying it, what else would you like, maybe some pie? some cake? a happy ending? its a phone, its going to be badass (wifi or not) get over it /rantoff

Dumb people. I've seen the same thing a buncha times while reading through. on VERIZON WIRELESS which this ARTICLE IS ABOUT, a blackberry is REQUIRED to have a DATA PLAN. No one gives a s*** about your AT&T and POS iphone.

Walmart is going to sell the Google G1 phone for only $149. starting Weds 10/29/8....$30 less than the TMo store....If Verizon doesn't get close to this price with the Storm it will probably be a a blowout winner for TMo and the Google G1.
