0. phoneArena posted on 01 Oct 2012, 02:48

The U.S. market share of BlackBerry smartphones may have slumped down to the 1% mark, yet RIM isn't ready to wave the white flag just yet. In fact, the company is mobilizing its forces for another push, scheduled for early 2013, and the BlackBerry 10 smartphones are going to lead it. Moreover, we think we know that at least one U.S. carrier that is interested in offering one of these new handsets...

by the time this comes out the s4 chip will have aged (gracefully).
Rim has to offer killer hardware specs like Optimus G because lets face it whether we like RIM or not, their BB10 OS cant be considered their selling point as it has not proven itself

That is not completely true as even if it came out early 2013, anyone with a midrange smartphone (which I think is the segment they are aiming for) will be moving on from the lower end chips to S4s. It is the standard chip and will have the most marketshare for some time (maybe until summer of next year). It will make it a very capable device.

Doing a trend analysis on RIM and BB devices, they never go for midrange segment, they have always fancied themselves as elite and only for corporates.
You are right this model is befitting for midrange but when this comes out I am almost certain it will have premium pricing which will again shoot them in their own foot!
However if they can make the pricing reasonable (which i highly doubt as this is thei comeback phone) then yes they might have a chance!
But time is of the escence...early 2013 is a no-no, its gotta come in 2012 or needs to be upgraded for 2013.

personally I don't think it will. they have to get through the Windows phones, Androids and iphone 5. and it's very hard

Slim and a removable battery. If these specs are real, nice!

Real nice RIM, I am waiting, but make sure it is here the 1st Qt of 2013. Yes, this will bring RIM out of the hold.

if BB 10 has dynamic and advance customization tweaks feature as android and "act" like mini pc like android does, it surely will be a player again in the smartphone competition. hope, over used suing ends next year and they really compete on power and features of the device not suing because of looks and feel or even shape, button, icons, transition effect, but suing because the code or hardware architectures infringement, like songs, if u use as much as 13 bar, u got sued because u doing plagiarism. that's it!

This looks promising for RIM, not a bad design. They may be a little behind, but it's better than the sub 1GHz processors they were using before, and it's actually better matched to some Android phones. As far as having to get through Windows phones, I don't think it will have to work to hard for that. Windows phones aren't as popular as one would think, and from what I have seen, they would be on about the same level. We'll see what happens.

Yes it does, but i agree w the earlier post! after 1st quarter 2013, rim will drown. Rim lost a lot of momentum with the horde of androids and the fame i phone 5! i was a loyal blackberry user for several years. but they took forever to communicate, they took soooo long and are taking even longer to release there famed BB10!.... many i know come off contract between now and january including myself! i would love to give BB10 a try. (having both an iphone4 and presently limping on my bold!) but if its not here by jan, Im not waiting. Im going I phone 5 or the next of many super duper Android!!
