BlackBerry "Krypton" gets a green light from the FCC

0. phoneArena posted on 14 Sep 2017, 00:28

Just last week, the BlackBerry "Krypton" received its Wi-Fi certification, and late last month the device was given its Bluetooth certification. Now, the next TCL produced BlackBerry Mobile handset has been certified by the FCC. This is going to be an "all touch" model, and based on rumored specs, it will have a screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 (FHD) resolution. Other rumors have the Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood with 4GB of RAM inside...

Looking forward to checking this out. That SoC with that big battery will make for even better battery life than the KEYone. If it had a camera like the KEYone's as well, it's a buy for me.

I think BB brand speak from themselves... Promised BB 10 updates that never materialize...

New Android device that wont be upgraded anymore...

What a waste...

BB10 did get updated to 10.3.3. 20.3.4 is in the works.

Their "new" Android phone is the KEYone, and it's currently on Nougat and will receive an update to Android Oreo.

Yes, me responding to you is a waste....

I don't meant to disagree with anyone here but...

The Snapdragon 625 is now "outdated" thanks to the introduction of Snapdragon 630 which has:

1. Faster GPU (Adreno 506 650Mhz @ 130 gFlops vs. Adreno 508 800Mhz @ 160 gFlops).
2. Faster LTE Modem (CAT 7 vs. CAT 12).
3. Higher CPU Clock (2.0Ghz vs. 2.2Ghz).
4. Much superior RAM (933Mhz Single-Channel vs. 1,333Mhz Dual-Channel) which translates into better bandwidth (7.4GB/s vs. a whooping 21.3GB/s).

The RAM alone is a good enough reason to go for The Snapdragon 630 over the 625/626. The RAM's bandwidth is just a tad behind Snapdragon 810 with a 1,600Mhz clock and much better than Snapdragon 808! Pretty impressive for a mid-range SoC, I'd say!

The upcoming Snapdragon 450 will be roughly comparable to the existing Snapdragon 625/626 albeit with a weaker GPU and about 1.8Ghz CPU clock and that tells something...

The SD625 is a low-end SoC now!

Oh well,

G'Day!

What STRANG3R said. You sht on BlackBerry on every article of theirs that you comment on. The SD625 is still a very capable SoC, whether you or the other BlackBerry troll care to admit it or not. Don't like it? Ignore it and move on. I have no interest in Xiamoi, so I never comment on their articles. It's that simple. No one takes you seriously around here.

What's even funny is....

You're even less liked around here than he is, and that's saying something.

But the funniest thing of all is...

Your screen name literally translates to "nipple tits".

Because of this^ alone, you should log off immediately.

When does MG ever troll? That I would like to see. He has his little troll, just like I do in Arte8800, but he isn't a troll in the least.

Lol, The cowardly keyboard warrior named mxyzptlk that's hiding behind a new faux account because I made him deactivate his primary mxyzptlk troll account is calling someone else a keyboard warrior. What irony and protection. Just stfu and accept the fact that I've won because I made you deactivate your Tony_Stark and mxyzptlk troll accounts.

Dude, you didn't make me deactivate anything. I've been wanting to deactivate it for a while and pull an Alik, but I'm not going to allow you to sling mud behind my back. You don't realize how pathetic you really sound right now.

That was from here:

Log off immediately mxyzptlk, as what I posted is actual proof, (you're literally saying with your Flash account that you never said you weren't mxy in the link I posted in comment #14, and you said that you've wanted to deactivate your mxyzptlk account for a while now, with your Flash account, for example) and what you posted is a desperate reach at best. (My name (Meanestgenius) is never mentioned by Alphageek in that link you posted).

Lol, I see that you're triggered just because exposed your other alias. You know, the one where you admitted to fighting the good fight. Meanestgenius doesn't have to be mentioned. You really think someone's stupid enough to not know that you're the one in that link?

You said "each and EVERY BlackBerry article." Put two and two together.

Lmao! I see that you're projection is at an all time high because I actually provided actual proof, while you posted a link with someone that you're still infatuated with. I'm still waiting for you to point out exactly where I (Meanestgenius) said those things, because, for the life of me, I still can't find it. Meanwhile, I posted links to you with your Flash account admitting to be mxyzptlk. You really thing anyone is stupid enough to believe that you're not mxyzptlk, Flash, batmite and Tony_Stark, even without me posting those links?

You said "I never said I WASN'T mxy." Doesn't take a genius to see that you admitted that you're mxyzptlk right there.

Oh, and then there's this:

"Other rumors have the Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood with 4GB of RAM inside." That's straight from this very article.

The word rumors means that this may not even be the SoC officially used. Let's wait until we get an official report on the specs before you decide to go on your usual tirade.

TCL is known for low/mid quality in china. The reason they buy Alcatel, Blackberry & Palm brand is to sell their low/medium quality device with better brand.

Basically, TCL were trying to save penies by using outdated cpu.

It's not supposed to compete with the Pixel series. It's a mid-range offering and it's no secret. BlackBerrys are not for gamers who require top-shelf processors or GPUs. Instead of trolling BlackBerry articles you should be trolling Apple articles and their ridiculous pricing.
