BlackBerry KEYone receives certified Android Oreo beta update that could be the final version
Those running the Android Oreo beta on their BlackBerry KEYone should soon receive a notification that their device has received a software update to build ABD796. Don't expect a changelist full of fabulous new capabilities. In fact, the update makes small adjustments to voice over Wi-Fi, carrier support and the fingerprint scanner. If you're still rockin' Android Nougat on your KEYone, you will first need to install build ABD301 on the handset before you add the new update.

To receive the Oreo updates for the KEYone, you will have to sign up at BlackBerry's center code page at  bbbeta.centercode.com. BlackBerry wants feedback pertaining to bugs or other issues because build ABD796 happens to have already received certification. That means that unless this build is full of bugs, it will be the version sent out as the official release of Android Oreo for last year's KEYone model.

If you have the BlackBerry KEY2, don't worry about this update; the sequel was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed.
