Of course the Alpha phone is gonna be thick. It's an Alpha phone for devs.
Anyway, it's cool to know that RIM is attempting to make a comeback! I will definitely be there the day that BB10 phones come to market to try them out. Can't wait!

i dont really get why people think that this dev alpha is the final products (these commenters below me) and will assume that apple will sue them coz of the design... this dev alpha sa so may 2012 people!!!

why wont you just be happy that one company wanted to make a comback?!

ths duopoly sucks... even WP is still hardly catching up.. but they will catch up...

but i wish BB10 the best for success...

i hope to see some killer specs BB10 device on 2013!! but cheaper....

good strategy should be consider!

I really am happy for BlackBerry owners because I know what position they're in where everyone says that their favorite OS IS GOING to fail

Now that would be a novel concept - reincarnate webOS in BB10....

I keep hearing good things about BB10, and I am with Doug: Give us a WebOS type experience, and watch the excitement grow. All WebOS lacked was great hardware and apps. BB generally make GREAT hardware, so that leaves app support. I am seriously tempted to give this thing a try.

it looks like an iPhone. Apple needs to take them to court... when they become successful.

the rise of the BlackBerry...

well they actually catch up and making a huge step forward with this BB10 OS!!! it really look great... but RIM only problem now is consumers love..

yes they will be love by devs coz its easy to make apps to the platform now and easy porting apps from android..but their problem now is consumers love coz if they have good hardware, good look, good everything but a very expensive device.. they will surely flop...

they should not forgot that they need to be back, they need to be love by one of the biggest market, the US! coz now the US market is made up of android and iOS and the whole world is also most likely the same...

but a good marketing strategy, they will surely be ok... but that strategy need to include cheap device but high end specs..offer the high end to flagship devices to carrier but cheaper (like lumia 900 did..now its on plan $50)... the tablets..Playbook should be cheaper too in order to sell.. even the PB now only cost $200 but the heck why RIM offer PB 4G to carrier at plan $350? its hilarious! people will just get galaxy tab at plan $199 instead!!!

in order for them to sell these BB7 devices.. they need to cut down the prices of these devices... why dont they go like HP did to TouchPad? let it go on sale since it wont be updated to BB10 right?! coz these bb7 devices still cost too much!!! people can buy a galaxy s2 with ICS installed but cheaper... and it has a strong ecosystem... and im pretty much sure that international version of s2 will get a Jelly Bean update.. coz it has a capable device... and it is a flagship after all..

again, everything will be all right if they will offer it to general market.. they shouldn't go high price and compete with iPhone 5 and the next big android..but if they do the lumia 900 way to US market, it will work out!!.. they need high specs device at cheap price!!

long live BlackBerry.. may the odds be with you forever in your favor!!

They just have to lower their prices.

indeed... cheaper but high end specs... like the lumia 900 did... a flagship but offer on a price of a mid range...

in order for them to get love, they need a good marketing strategy...

and in order for those BB7 devices to sell they need to go the HP TOuchPad way... im pretty sure people will go crazy about that huge sale!!

I seriously hope this can bring RIM a huge amount of success. Its sad seeing companies that were their when I was younger fail.

yeah... they should really need to have a comeback... they deserve to be on top with iPhone, androids(and Windows Phone in the near future)..

if Heins was justthe CEO 3 tears ago... BB might be on top... its Heins idea to acquire QNX and make PlayBook OS.. its past CEOs are so blind to see the competition and the rise of touch screens!!!

they actually catch up to competition!! they have a siri esque voice assistant (not quite similar app like siri but i hope they will work hard on that) support of latest hardware (they will use s4 chips and now with LTE) and a lot more... but its up to the marketing strategy... if they will go to the price where the iPhone and Android Royalties rule, they are dead... but if they go the lumia 900 way to the US market, then they will get some consumers love...

they need a good strategy for BB10..coz its future rely on decisions now...

but they need to sell these BB7 devices too right? why wont they go what HP did to TouchPad? it will sure be a hit.. since i think those BB7 devices wont be upgraded to BB10 coz BB10 is QNX and BB7 is java base..

Uhh oh. It has rounded corners and a clear panel on top of the display. Stay tuned for the Apple lawsuit. That's obviously a copy of an Iphone.

its an alpha device.. and its a prototype... its developer exclusive device... its not commercial so apple's suing muscle wont be activated to this one!!!

BB needs to do whatever it takes to keep up with iphone and android as long as they keep the qwerty keyboard....that's been the selling point with me, but it is disappointing to see their software falling behind their rivals. They nned to get more apps and speed up their sofeware definately.....hopefully this latest release will bring them back tothe forfront where they belong!!! As long as there are BB querty keyboards around...I will be happy!!!!
