Bill Gates is a fan of Apple Pay, hints at fingerprint scanners coming to Windows Phone?

There has been a lot of discussion about Apple Pay ever since the announcement last month, and debate over whether or not it'll be good. Of course, that debate mostly exists because the service hasn't been released yet, and no one knows exactly how it will perform. Either way, it seems Apple Pay has a fan in an unlikely source - Bill Gates...

No man, not all fandroids are haters. Gates gives his honest opinion and imho, he speaks the truth. Apple will make this type of payment system more popular. Apple is the best in marketing after all.

Apple didn't make anything mainstream. The menial media made it. See how they react when Apple use some feature, and how worshiping they react when other did it even before Apple.

There is a difference between doing it first and doing it where people will accept it. Before Apple, windows, palm, bb, etc all had the stigma that nerds only use the devices cause they were to complicated etc. Enter apple, shows that it can be done for ease of use. Android soon scrapped their non-touch code and refocused on touch code, releases android to oem's. Point being that the last 3 products, tablet, phone, ipod have made splashes and not just because of the media.

I'm an Android fan and I like Bill Gates. He's saying nothing new. Microsoft and Google are responsible for many of the innovations in smartphones; Apple's innovative marketing makes them mainstream.

What exactly has Google "innovated" in the mobile space? They have brought almost nothing new to the table. They follow their OEMs and individual devs, when they haven't followed Apple, Microsoft, Palm, or BlackBerry.

Napalm the droiders are forming a mob as we speak, with torches and pitchforks and coming for you bro. Sniggly said the streets will flow with the blood of the non believers.

Coming from Napalm_3nema and darkkjedii that uses iOS phone which copied every single feature from Google Android for the past 4 years. So that make Apple innovative. I really don't care much for Apple fans which draw conclusion from fantasy rather than facts.

Google copies Apple too. They all copy.

True. Only Apple bullsh*t patents makes it matter. Apple's round rectangle corner lawsuit bring a new era to patent trolling. Imagine this to happen in the 30's, Ford suing every other car manufacturer for a 5 wheels designs.

I don't dislike or like Bill Gate. Microsoft under his lead has done enough anti-competition practice that get them convicted as a monopolist. But in the recent years he has run many humane and charitable events and acts. darkkjedii comment aim to pitch Android fans against Microsoft fans while he satisfies his Apple fathom.

Recent years? Try since like forever. And if you think he/ms is the only anti-competition on the block, i have a bridge to sell. Every big company wants competition out of the way.

Nah, so who's the next Apple Pay fan, Masayoshi Son ? I heard that Japanese have this kind of payment for about... you know, 10 years ! As usual, Apple stole another idea from the Japs and made it like they've invented it.

It is he who gets to the market first and know how to use it.. it's not who has the idea.. everybody has idea.. the big thing is who implemented it.. and made it popular and showed its usefulness..

The problem is the japs have already implemented it, made it popular, and showed its usefulness in their own country. Damn, only 4 offended ? Thought there would be more ^_^

Apple makes everything mainstream.

Gotta agree with you. They made front cameras on high ends mainstream, they made virtual voice assistants mainstream, LTE in the US mainstream, fingerprint scanners mainstream and now they'll also make mobile payments and NFC a mainstream thing with their Apple Pay.
