3000 mah on a 5.7 inch screen ? in 2016 ? no thanks! especially with the rumors that the note 6/7 is getting 4000 mah+

It's AMOLED, battery life won't be that bad. To be honest most people only need it to last a day of heavy usage anyway.

whether you like it or not this year is the year of better battery life . is someone can pay 700$ for 2 day battery life rather than 500$ for one day max ... most people would do it , i am a power user and i get 5 hours of sot on my phone and i have to recharge mid day every day ....

I have used all the phones, flagships, mid ranges and haven't seen anything as important as battery life. A very busy day doesn't permit recharging and carrying battery packs around is adding more loads and stress. I want a phone to last a day or two with one full charge. You can have the most beautiful and powerful phone on earth and then if by 2 PM, you can't even answer a phone call, you are worse than someone who doesn't even have a Smartphone.

This is so true . I have a note 5 and i love it but 5 hours of SOT on a social media beast is not enough !! Im ok with charging my phone every night but phones need to start giving us around 10 hours of SOT .. i hate wall hogging at 4 PM and holding a huge battery pack when im out !

May be you should get the upcoming Acer Liquid phone with a 5000mAh battery and midrange specs.

Do you stay on your phone all day or you actually work on your phone?

I think you have your ideas pretty much out of track. SOT heavily depends on the screen yes. But then, it is not the SIZE of the screen. It depends on the number of pixels it is driving(resolution). And also, if you compare it with the note 5? Both have an AMOLED panel But then the note has a 1440p display vs a 1080p display which means that the latter has less power consumption for its screen. There are also factors like yeah, GPU, CPU and the manufacturing process size (20nm, 14 nm) but thats a separate thing

You have to give it to asus. At least they didn't do the lg g5 battery suicide tradition : QHD lcd display with puny 2800mah battery. Replaceable but not all people want to bring a spare battery these days.

The people at LG are morons they took a great phone and destroyed it. Lets wish the new V10 has a 4000 mah + and a better software

Don't forget the FullHD res instead of the QHD. This battery will probably last longer than s7

1440p actually makes a good difference at 5.7 inch. Battety is also small. Camera dedign looks ugly. A seperate SD slot is much better than a hybrid sim slot. Not worth $500.

So the same display in 2016 as was on Samsung galaxy note 3 in 2013... 3 years old display technology is not something I would be amazed at. On the other hand, if it is being sold at the reasonable price corresponding with the old display tech, why not to put this in the market in 2016 as well? Obviously there are not many users, who can appreciate the excellent QHD quality of best AMOLED displays on the market from Samsung. But I am among them.

No... Just because the resolution is the same, doesn't mean it's the same panel. Samsung constantly release new generation panels in all sizes and resolutions, they don't just focus on 1440p...

It looks and feels twice its price.

That's a beast, for its price ! But it doesn't exactly compete with the likes of the Galaxy S7 / Note series : the difference between QHD and FHD is noticeable (at least for me) on a 5.7-inch display. Plus, the camera will probably be average (1 micrometer pixels in 2016, really ?), like the battery life. It just has impressive specs.

My only nitpick with the design are those ugly buttons. 2016 and asus is still using those goddamn kitkat icons. They should have went with those playstation buttons. As for the battery, I'll judge it after the reviews since it's only 300+ ppi and using amoled. For $500 asus just listened to consumers who want flagship specs with a little cutting corners to lower the price.

I'm with you. I would rather have the Axon 7's 5.5 inch screen. It may only have 4gb of Ram, but it looks nicer and is $50 cheaper.

Axon 7 does have a high end version that has 6gb ram and 128 GB of storage

Was thinking the same thing, somewhat disappointed but who knows maybe it will prove itself, but good price for storage overall

I don't get the above comments this is a SD820 phone with 5.7in screen at $500.........Am I missing something or is that really good. People need to stop crying about little things like QHD on sub 6in devices and 2 day battery life, if the screen looks good and the battery last all day then thats a win in my book, you sleep at least 2 hours at night right? so just put you're damn phone the charger.

6,8inch is to small for a phone of 2016. No thanks. Wake me up when you build a 9inch phone.
