Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 with Android 8.1 Oreo and massive 5,000 mAh battery announced
Asus has just unveiled its new mid-range Android smartphone, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 – a device that we've recently learned about. Although the new ZenFone series phone will initially be released in India, Asus plans to make it available in other countries as well.
For the time being, we know the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 will go on sale in India on May 3 for $160 (3GB/32GB model) and $200 (4GB/64GB model), respectively. However, customers in Indonesia will be among the first to get it on April 25.
As expected, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 offers a “pure Android experience,” but there's no mention of Android One. Still, the smartphone ships with Android 8.1 Oreo on board and Asus promised to update the ZenFone Max Pro M1 to Android Q when the new version will be available.
Specs-wise, Asus' new mid-range phone looks pretty decent thanks to the 6-inch display with full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, and massive 5,000 mAh battery. On the back, the phone includes a dual-camera setup (13MP+5MP) and a fingerprint sensor, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The ZenFone Max Pro M1 features dual-SIM support and a premium metal design. Even though it comes with two SIM slots, the smartphone includes a third slot for microSD cards that allows users to expand storage by up to 2TB. It's also worth mentioning that the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will be available in two colors: Deepsea Black and Meteor Silver.
