Asphalt 8 Airborne now free for Windows Phone and Windows 8
Asphalt 8: Airborne arrived in the Windows Phone (read Lumia) universe not long ago, and is already generously free for download and play for all owners of handsets with Microsoft's mobile operating system. The only downside in this announcement is that the game is north of 800 MB, so you have to make sure enough space will be present on your phone before hitting the install button.

As a reminder, the Asphalt franchise is one of the most popular racers on all mobile platforms, and the eighth edition sports "47 high-performance cars (80% of them NEW!)," and "top licensed manufacturers like Lamborghini & Ferrari". The game also went free for Windows 8 devices, so if you have the tiled Modern UI on your gear, you can take it for spin right now, hitting the links below.

I'd rather wait for games and apps on WP, and use a cool device like my 1520, than even touch a phone made for females... No thanks sister..

I agree if speaking about the iPad but for phones the iPhone is way to small. I'd prefer not having to squint and have my hands cramped up due to the toy phone

Best graphics. Hmm, there's always Xbox One/PS4, but for best games and best graphics, nothing beats the good old PC, the king of gaming. I gotta admit that next-gen gaming looks pretty damn sweet.

"Asphalt 8: Airborne arrived in the Windows Phone (read Lumia) universe " LOL, it's really true, I think that MS is gonna rename WP to Lumia, just because it's more popular than Windows Phone! (A lot actually)

I had it on android so I got it on my 1520 not too

It's free on other platforms too, or an I missing something? It's also half the size of others platform? Wonder what it's missing if anything.

It was a paid app when it first came to Windows Phone. They are simply pointing out that it has gone free.

It was a paid app on iOS and Android as well before going free. What they DIDN'T point out is that the iOS and Android versions have more IAPs than the WP version. When A8 went free on iOS and Android, it was actually a different version of A8 tuned for the Freemium model with more IAPS. The free A8 for Windows Phone is the exact same A8 as the paid version, just now free.
