Are you getting the Nokia Lumia 1020?

Now that we have all PureView photographic goods combined in the Lumia 1020, and sprinkled with a second generation image stabilization suspension for the huge sensor, as well as pixel oversampling during video recording, not to mention all the manual controls in the Pro Camera app, we wanted to ask you whether you'd be considering the 1020 for your smartphone collection if that's the Nokia you've been waiting for...

The phone deserves all the adjectives in the book. Innovation? Check. Sexy Design? Check. Hardware? Check. Software? Bit meh. Camera? Supercheck. Display? Check. The app selection and WP8's silly limitations is what worries me though. Get it right MS quickly.

I dont see why people are complainting about the hardware of the phone when it does not need more than this to run smoothly. Iphone 5 has a 1.3Ghz dual processor and runs smooth but I dont see people complaining about that. My mother has a Lumia 620 with a 1Ghz dual processor, Wp runs smooth as an egg on it. Its sad to see how people are being deceived by advertising, My cousins Galaxy S4 does not run as smooth as my brothers Iphone 4. And the Galaxy S4 has a 1.9 QUAD CORE SNAPDRAGON 600. Freezing and crashing atleast once a day. Even if Nokia, Samsung, Iphone, HTC and the other companies put killer specs in the phones, people will find something to complain about anyway.

Yes. The problem is not in the hardware side but in the app store, in the software side of things. This is what is keeping most consumers from switching over.

correct. Even vid low features , iphn runs smoothly then any droid and i havent seen any lags till date.. And same goes for windows i hadnt had any lags so far in my 720. runs smooth like butter and responses well.. Really we dnt need octacores if we can easily manage vid dualcores and low ram. I like people bitching bout the specs even if they dunno what a quadcore and high ram can do......i see them as some sissy chic easily attracted by extra bling bling in their dress.....

I want Nokia 808 - best phone imo :D This Lumia is amazing smartphone & cameraphone, but 808 is in my heart. I know it sounds stupid, but I like the way Symbian looks and works...

Windows lack so many apps that getting this phone is just not worth it! Anyway, one does not take photos everyday and some android phones have good camera at cheaper price with more apps to choose from. But if nokia comes out with am android version of this phone then maybe I will bought one.

HTC you can keep your "UltraPixels". Dear Nokia, bring "SUPERPIXELS" to stage please! :D

I'm definitely getting this! Been waiting for a combination of Pureview 41 Mpx and Pureview OIS in a WP phone. This will be the a great companion for my already awesome S4.

Going to have to stick with my current phone because I just got it 2 months ago and it would be impractical to terminate my two year agreement with Verizon and switch to ATT right now. If I were making a decision to get a phone right now, I would 100% get this phone. P.S.: Better/more choices in this poll than I've seen in previous polls PA. Good job.

Re: comments about low-end specs. I have a Lumia 920 and a Galaxy Note. Granted, the Note is not current high-end specs either, but it is the 3rd Android phone I've had. WP doesn't need the specs of Android. My Lumia blows away the Note in normal every day functions like opening email, making a call, sending a text message, opening ANY application. The Lumia is instantaneous while there is a significant delay on the Note. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of things I like better about Android, but the fact is it takes a LOT more horsepower to run it effectively than WP8. All of that to say the comments about specs are a red herring.

If I had the money i'd love to buy it, but my days of switching phones every 3-4 months are gone now, I'm sticking with a 920 the coming year, and probably the year after that.

Lucky enuf to be born vid a creative mind , instead of dumb mind who plays game throught the day ( loser ). Taking pictures is what i luv the most. For me its the best bet that i was eagerly waiting. Had n 808 and will definatly have 1020 lumia at any cost( just need sm funds ). Will sell my 720 for it . Wont wait till the end of the year for the phablet. i can smell some jealousy here. Like dose guys who say its n outdated specd phone , because they are so dumb that for them more ram, processor means more fast stuff( get a life guys , i bet u seriously even dunno what an octacore chip, or quadcore chip can do with increase in ram. ) i can understand your illitracy towards phones. P.S--- Anyways i dont care WHAT dumbsters say, i will buy p,v for sure.....cheers nokia

Let's play devil's advocate. Most people don't care about how well defined camera technology is. It's just a convenient and casual perk that average users utilize on a whim for a simple task. Generally, most modern-day smartphones have more-than capable modules to meet these required tasks. But with the Lumia 1020, you're only getting the camera as your perk. You're losing out on best in class displays, CPUs, GPUs, higher memory capacity, removable and bigger batteries; as well as sensors, other hardware benefits and most importantly, app ecosystem.. and for what? A good camera phone that's running Lumia 920-rebranded 2011 specs? While fine for Windows phone now, aren't future proof at all.

taht camera is crazy..but thats all... no futureproof specs... almost same design. WP 8. mostly this is old lumia 920 with crazy camera.. and i wonder if it is not srange to hold fone with such big camera apparatus

This cameraphone on windows, with noticeably protruding camera module is hopelessly out of date ....

Because its camera absolutely clobbers everything else in the mobile galaxy without effort? Because it's on a pretty, modern, intuitive OS that doesn't need a fleet of processor cores to make it run smoothly? Because it's beautifully crafted with comfort, ease-of-use, durability, and longevity in mind? Yep, outdated alright.

yah its outdated... Because it cant compete vid the fat@ss zoom and the heating device s4. . Its outdated because it is superfast , smooooooth, lagfree , can make excellent calls , vid one f the best displays and hardware and it can take pics which v can make huge posters of.......ask this moron why octacore or quadcores needed vid too much ram ????? Its because whatver features u add to droids they will lag at any cost no matter what specs u put .. Shame on nokia and windows they cant introduce something dat lags and stutter...... Outdated!!!!! my faart......

Well begun ... Because there is no need as many cores and so on. bla bla bla)) You say that windous phone 8 better then android..? Hmm.., very interesting...Only nokia fans, can say such bulls**t ! xD. The best operating system is Android and argue with it does not make sense. About 41mph. camera, it`s not much better shoots than the same iPhone 5 camera. Similarly, the Galaxy S4 does have a good camera. So, lumia 1020, it is not an interesting product, especially since the iPhone soon, will released 5s, with 12 mpx. camera that will be better than on an iPhone 5. Yes, and soon comes 20mpx. Sony Xperia Honami! And Xperia Honami will be more interesting than your lumia 1020!
