The Archos 80 Xenon has just surfaced in Europe and it’s an affordable 8-inch tablet with 3G connectivity. It’s running on Android and happens to be one of the many newly surfaced 8-inch devices that will rival the Apple iPad mini.
The 80 Xenon comes with a price tag of 226 euro (around $300) which makes it much cheaper than the 3G-equipped iPad mini that starts at $459.
The Archos 80 Xenon comes with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and features Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, and the 8-inch screen matches the iPad mini in terms of resolution - it’s 1024 x 768 pixels. Storage is only 4GB but it’s expandable via microSD cards. The rest of the details are not clear just yet as the device has not gone official, but it’s likely that we’ll hear more about this tablet pretty soon, so stay tuned.
