If you don't live in India and don't have a recent iPhone in perfect working condition to give up in exchange for a big trade-in discount from Apple, your money-saving options for the iPhone XR are fairly limited. But while retailers like Best Buy can only offer modest $50 markdowns with monthly installment plans on select networks, Fry's Electronics is following up its killer iPhone XS deal from yesterday with a similarly enticing iPhone XR promotion today.
This is also good for just 24 hours in brick and mortar stores nationwide, definitely justifying that effort by shaving a massive 350 bucks off the regular price of the more affordable 2018 iPhone variant. That essentially means you'll be coughing up a crazy low $400 instead of $750 for a brand-new iPhone XR with 128GB storage space, a robust glass and aluminum construction, a decent 6.1-inch LCD panel, a surprisingly capable single 12MP rear-facing camera, as well as excellent battery life, powerful sound, a speedy Apple A12 Bionic processor, and modern Face ID technology.
Of course, you can't just pay the 400 bucks and leave your local Fry's store with an unlocked iPhone XR in your possession. Instead, you'll need to activate the device on a new line of AT&T service and agree to a 24 or 30-month installment plan. The former will require payments of $18.70, while the latter reduces the monthly fee to $14.96, down from $31.25 and $25 respectively outside of these super-limited promotional windows.
At $400, the iPhone XR is obviously significantly better equipped to keep the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S10e and Huawei P30 at bay. The former typically costs $750 and up, while the latter has recently started selling at B&H Photo Video in a Latin America variant with a full 1-year US warranty included at a $600 price. Naturally, discounts on those two handsets are to be expected, with the S10e actually offered at lower than usual prices by multiple retailers over the past few weeks.
