Apple's "Cumulative iPhone Sales" chart is spinning data hard

0. phoneArena posted on 10 Sep 2013, 18:47

We've discussed this trend before, but Apple keeps doing it, so we have to keep revisiting the topic. You see, there is often a pretty blatant disconnect between the data that Apple chooses to show during its events and the data that would more accurately describe what is happening. Of course, Apple isn't the only company to do this, every company deals in various types of data spinning...

Be it any company, for me, numbers don\'t matter. I don\'t care if A sold more than B, if I like B, I buy B. Never once regret buying Nokia N9 on Meego. Numbers ain\'t fooling me. Bring a quality product, take my money. Simple as that. Have my eyes set on 5S and Z1 mini (although Lumia 1020 is still at the back of my mind!)

If that was true, you wouldn\'t be talking down other operating systems because they wouldn\'t matter to you. Reality shows otherwise.

Not others. Just android. I was pro android for years, my first device being the X10 if i remember correctly, but honestly, even after years, keeping all dislike aside, they still haven\\\'t fixed the core issues- fragmentation and lag/stutter. I have two android devices and sometimes they really p!ss me off. I still don\\\'t \\\"hate\\\" android, but it really isn\\\'t the best as some say. And all the bashing that i do, trust me, it\\\'s only coz of all the bashing that i see against iOS and WinPho by android fans. Granted, some of them are just paid by companies but some are extremely dumb. Every OS is relevant to me. Eagerly awaiting sailfish too.

Bashing goes both ways my friend.. But it's hypocritical of us to say I only bash os X because that person keeps on bashing os y.. Then that person can turn around and say I only bash os y because he keeps bashing os X.. Lol hope you got that lol basically just saying things go round and round if we ultimately don't stop our self cause if we (and I use to do my fair bit of bashing and have the occasional joke bashing now and then) then can we expect others to stop too? I'm the opposite of you, had ios for a year and just hated how restrictive it is hence why I just love android.. But there great phones for everyone so there should not be any bashing really.

I agree there shouldnt be any bashing. If you guys stop then i stop. And if u see, i really just bash the trolls. I don\'t initiate it (ok i did once with samsung), i just reply to it.

That's what i use to do as well especially when you know they are trolls. I've realised the bbest thing to do is ignore them cause that's what they get off on lol but it can be hard not to reply when sometimes what these trolls say is either hypocritical or just isn't true.. Am not gna act like I don't still bash cause I'll be lying but I try not to anymore.. Cant be dealing with my email filled by troll X has just replied to your comment lol don't have time to argue with trolls.

So after you bash, then you don\'t want us to bash in response. How nice of you.

Curious to what Android phones you own that have such bad lag, I don't see it on my N4.

Most of the comments I've read about lag are from people who bought really low end phones, have old phones, people who have standards way too high, or are just haters who like to rag on Android. Best article I've read on the subject was on a pro-Apple site and had negative and positive comments from both Apple and Android users. One of the pro iPhone users said it wasn't so much a lag on Android as a difference in the speed at which the two systems operate. Someone expects something to happen at a set speed, it happens slightly slower but smooth none the less and it's deemed lag. Simply isn't true that it's lag.

And today's lag is last years fragmentation, which was the previous years DOA. No idea what mantra will replace lag when haters realize people don't care any longer.

Sony Xperia S running on JB and a cheap tablet running on ICS. I never count the cheap tablet. But the Xperia S?! Even Temple Run stutters on this phone. And not just mine, 8 out of 10 people i know have android and they have same complaints. One very major prob is battery life.

4.5 star rating. Friend of mine has that game and never mentioned problems with it. Have to go back to what you consider lag to be, as well as those 8 out of 10 people. Couple of years ago I'd have to agree, not so much these days. But there are some apps that aren't coded well, happens even on iOS. I've been using Android since the G1, it's come a long way and isn't anywhere close to what it used to be, not even from two years ago.

i think it may be an issue with sony, I also had the xperia s and i had the same problem, however, i installed temple run 1 and 2 on my mum's galaxy device and there were no issues whatsoever. i was a big fan of sony, my first phone being a sony ericsson device but i feel they don't deliver anymore,,and the battery always drain so fast..

Seems to crop up randomly every year or so. It\'s not just the apostrophes, \"quotes\" do it too.
