0. phoneArena posted on 29 Jun 2012, 18:45

Judge Lucky Koh has awarded Apple a preliminary injunction against the Samsung GALAXY Nexus; Apple will have to post a $96 million bond and Samsung will most likely ask for a stay on the order which revolves around four patents Samsung allegedly infringed upon with the handset...

Not once when using my Nexus have I've said "Gee...this is like an iPhone". Its why I love my phone so much. I've always told myself that I would be open minded if an Apple product would ever fit my needs, but these Apple lawsuits have become ridiculous. I officially have become the type of person I told myself i would never be......close minded. Screw you Apple.

I know, she was doing so well before, and now with this and the Tab 10.1, starting to lose confidence in her. I know judges have to be unbiased, but this sort of junk is baloney. She should do what that other judge did and tell apple to STFU.

Why is Samsung getting Sued for the Nexus... Isnt this pure google software that Samsung just Manufactured, so shouldnt they be suing google. Or maybe apple is scared to go up against Google head on.

This is complete crap. Apple is so scared of Samsung taking over its ridiculous. I was tempted in buying the new MacBook Pro but with this (injunction) I'm boycotting them permanently. I hope Samsung stops doing any kind of business with Apple.

You lost me apple -1

Well...sad news...but here are is my take on this - All patents Slide-to-unlock, data-tapping and auto-correct...why these are not covered in FRAND...when Apple save their ass from 3g patents of Moto and Samsung by arguing to consider them as frand...what the are these bulls**t patents? Same judge lucy...denied injunction initially...wtf has changed from then?

"Accordingly, Apple has shown a likelihood of success on the merits of its '647 [data tapping] Patent claim."

"Accordingly, Apple has met its burden of establishing that the '721 [slide-to-unlock] Patent is likely infringed by the Galaxy Nexus, and that the '721 Patent will likely withstand a validity challenge at trial."

"Accordingly, Apple has shown that it is likely to succeed on the merits at trial in its claims that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus infringes claims 18, 19, and 27 of the '172 [autocorrect] Patent."

T H AN K Y O U!!!

I asked a serious question the other day about Apple and what patents they have as FRAND...and got lots of red thumbs...I must have hit a nerve...lol.

Agree 100% about Apple and their FRAND patents...or lack of them.

So... wait..

if they got an injunction on the G-Nex for some odd Siri patent.. then technically they just went after google, not samsung.. even though its a samsung phone. Its also a NEXUS which is a stock google device. If they can get the nexus banned and stick, they have the android ecosystem in their grasp.

And how the frick does Apple get anything off a Siri patent when GVA was released YEARS before it?

Now it makes sense. they bought Nuance for their patents.. just a new way to troll and kill competition.

This is probably the first time the judges had to face a kid like Apple who wouldn't go away time after time and continued to annoy the adults with all their complaints over and over again just because they can, then finally, the adults got so tired of his whining that they awarded him the prize. Kind of like how a child cries to his mom to buy him a new toy.

Yeah....Problem is the patent was filed in 2004. Looks like Apple has the edge this time.

now i know why these judges are so damn blinded..

try to read that article, and tell me if you are not dizzy.. and take also into account that apple, being a patent troll, submits a lot of these to the court.. I'm sure judge Lucky Koh (it should be Lucy) goes boink boink..

f**king half bitten fruit..

Google Desktop was in beta in 2004...Oct 2004....

But I bet that wont get in the way of iFans and their wild theories...

Maybe Apple filed something before 2004? Just trying to understand the mind of Apple's legal team.

or maybe I could be wrong.. but Google voice is not in the same league as Siri.. and thats why a judge whom is not a fandroid saw it and rule in favor of Apple.. google voice is like DVD it work and everyone was crazy over it.. but Siri is like Blue Ray.. far better technology...

dont worry, your wrong as usual.

and since Google Voice was out YEARS before Apple even bought Nuance, I'd like to know how they have a case..

Well fandroid they obviously have a case as a court of law (not Internet trolls) has sided with Apple.

The copying is blatantly obvious and Samsung/android need to stop.

Yeah, but you obviously don't give a s**t when Apple copies the HELL out of other OSes. That s**t needs to stop too.

I can't believe the panties that you wad up over minutia, but when Apple steals s**t that other companies spent a hell of a lot more effort on coming up with, you don't GIVE A s**t.

"Oh my god! Android has slide to unlock too! We must sue them into the ground!"

"Oh, Apple copied Android's entire notification center? Apple uses tech that Motorola developed for its cloud services? SCREW YOU MOTOROLA!!!!!"

They're not going to sue because they're not f**king assholes or whiny little children.
I hope they do now though, because I like the Nexus.
