Apple virtually cleans the message bug in its iPhone X ad, keeps it in iOS 11

If you remember, Apple had a fun new commercial a few days ago, demonstrating the unlocking power of gaze, hinting at how awesome the new Face ID scan biometry on the iPhone X is. While a girl is happily frolicking through a school, and ravaging open doors, cars, and locker rooms with the power of her stare, the end of the ad featured an Easter Egg.

Some eagle-eyed observers spotted that the ad actually shows a known bug in iOS 11, where the text from an iMessage displayed on the lock screen spills outside of the bubble it is supposed to be housed in. Blink and you might miss it, but the ever-vigilant keyboard warriors spotted it nonetheless, and spread the word for the globe. There might be no bad publicity, and the ad, while good, might not have attracted as much attention as without a bug present, but Apple has still gone ahead, and fixed it.

No, not the iOS 11 bug, the promo video. Surprising as it may seem, text still spills out on your real iPhone X, but doesn't now in the ad, indicating that Apple is listening to their customers. The bug will probably be fixed with the imminent iOS 11.3 update, which is also supposed to bring the much-awaited battery and throttling tools, too. Anyways, here is the new and improved looks-to-locks ad.
