Good news to hear, does this mean Apple might concentrate on actually innovating for the first time in 2-3 years instead of sueing their competitors?

More like first time since the original iphone came out.... and even that wasn't necessarily innovative, just a combination of ideas and parts from other companies (without permission for a number of them, i.e. Nokia) with a logical evolution of the smartphone concept, already illustrated by other companies' prototypes and concepts, much like the original macintosh was for PCs

So if this goes through, If I buy a moto or sammy product then I am supporting apple by giving them 15 bucks? Sorry moto and sammy I refuse to buy your products if you settle with this.

Don't worry, Love. HTC and the others will be added to the list! Just think, if you are already using an Android device, you're already supporting Microsoft; might as well support Apple too :)

I don't really mind supporting Microsoft. Just not Apple.

No, I love Microsoft despite their extremely costly software, but at least it works and it's good...I refuse to pay Apple. They have given me nothing but a s**tty mp3 player and a hoard of annoying iFans to make my life miserable...

Buy Nokia. Apple has to pay them for patent infringements

if you buy Samsung or Motorola, you're already supporting Microsoft to the tune of $10 or so. What's another $15 going to Apple?

Because I dont dislike MS as a culture (though i do not like their foxconn practices), where I disagree with Apple as a culture and do not want to contribute to that. Its like being a capitalist and being told you are forced to give your money to communists.. wow. its exactly like that.. lol

Capitalists being forced to give money to communists? I cannot remember a time when that has NOT been the case in my lifetime...

Although I am pleasantly surprised to hear this, I think Apple is just realizing that Android isnt going anywhere so they might as well squeeze every penny they can instead of fighting a neverending battle. Wouldnt it be nice if our government would do the same for the war on drugs?

What a wonderful analogy. But you forget that such a move would require logic and common sense. Something that our government seems to lack currently.

I think I'm dreaming! I'm about to buy an Android, probably a GSII but thumb up Apple if this is true. Hopefully it's not one of those famous rumor that surrounds Apple products.

Dont get the GS2, at least get a newer model like the Sony Xperia S or SGS3.. (:

The GS3 is my first choice, just don't know if I want to wait that long though, it seems that it's not going to come out soon and the American market is always the last one anyway...
