Apple shifts production to build more Apple iPhone 6 Plus units

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus has been outsold by its smaller brother, the Apple Phone 6. Some of that might be due to the fact that many phone buyers can't handle such a large device. Some consumers just think that a phablet is too big to carry around. Additionally, Apple has originally skewed production in favor of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6...

I thought the 6 plus wasnt popular? All my friends have the 6 and the others who want a bigger phone are going for the Note 4.

I opted for the 6 Plus. Honestly, it's going a lot better than I expected. This battery is just insane. Look what I got yesterday with brightness at about 40%. http://tinypic.com/r/m9pzqh/8

Nah...the Note 4 still last longer...HAH> Even my Note 3 lasts longer. I get 2.5 days on a single charge.

That's so damn good. My sister's Note 3 could get to only about 8-9 hours of screen on time over a full day. 9h45m is really something.

I hear folks at work talking about these phones alot. A few key phrases: I have the 6; doesnt it bend? (in response)...the 6 doesnt bend, thats the plus... Its too big Its ugly; yeah I know (in response) Apple might be playing a bad game of trying to keep up with the Jonses. The Mini started cannibalizing sales of the bigger iPad. I havent kept up with that news lately but curious how it is now. Apple should stick to what they do best, creating a market and staying there. So many iPhones were sold over the years while Android phones have gotten bigger. If it aint broke Apple.... This isnt like BB or WP thats trying to get noticed, the iPhone is already well established. But....we will see in a year or 2 if the bigger iPhone was a waste to make.

I'm not quite sure about that. I've had an iPhone since the 3Gs and even with the iPhone 5, I wanted more screen. When Apple announced a 5.5" screen, I automatically jumped to it. What I didn't realize is just how big a 5.5" screen actually is. Now in the past 1.5 weeks, I've grown used to the size and actually love my 6 Plus...I honestly don't think it's best phone for most people, especially typical iPhone users. They should purchase the iPhone 6. If you've had nothing but an iPhone, you're not going to be used to the shear size of the 6 Plus. It sounds great on paper, but when you walk around with it or handle it in everyday situations, it may not be as great as you'd hope. And that goes with any phablet out there. The iPhone 6 feels like a perfect upgrade to the 5 in both size, power, and features. The 6 Plus is great as well...but if you're not used to the size, it may take a bit of getting used to.

I hear yeah. I'm tryin to get used to the size of my iPhone 6 gold (i regret the color choice, i should have gotten space gray). I'm still keeping my 5s for the meantime bcoz of jailbreak.

Average battery life, overpriced, bendable build quality issue, no proper phablet feature. The iPhone 6 Plus is a failure phablet to be honest. And no, please don't brag about the sales, it absolutely have no relations of buying a phone.

Everyone has their own opinions. I have been an owner of the Note 1, 2, & 3. I recently went to the 6 Plus. I don't use my stylus very often, instead it was for the larger screen. I now have a Note Pro 12.2 on my AT&T account. My biggest issue with Samsung is quality and reliability. I have never had any of my iPhone's replaced. I have a iPhone 5 from a month have its launched. Battery last just as long. While every Galaxy phone has been replaced 2-4 times each year because of issues. As for battery life, I get the same if not a little better with my 6 Plus over my Note 3.

While EVERY Galaxy phone has been replaced 2-4 times each year because of issues. I will he waiting for you to name these models, and every defect that forced you to return your phone, because this has to be one of the worst lies I ve ever read on this site. Check GSMARENA's every review of every Samsung flagship, they do criticize them for sticking to plastic, yet they always applaud them for making a well reliable device, inside outside, sake goes with PA. On another news, In the past 2 years I had my Lamborghini Aventador replaced 2-4 times because it was so fast and loud, so I ended up going with a quieter Honda Civic.

Ok here you go VZW S4- 2- for charge port 1-for dead screen ATT-Note 1 1-Charging Port 1-dead bottom half of screen 1-sim card reader would no longer read the SIM card Note 2 1-microphone quit working 1-ear peace on phone quit working 1-no longer get a signal VZW Note 3 2-horrible reception both with and without KitKat 1-Camera quit working There you go, but I am sure you will still call it lies. Also go to XDA and read the completes about Galaxy Devices build quality. While I get called a variety of names about owning Apple products, I also have a Galaxy Note Pro that I really like,

Even Samsung's CEO would switch to another brand if he had this much defected phones. Nice try buddy, but even Twilight movies were better scripted than your story.

Glad to think you know people. Until my Galaxy Note Pro, I have needed Android to send emails quickly on the go with attachments, I stuck with Samsung because I liked Touchwiz. I have not been a fan of HTC Sense since blink feed and also not a fan of the One Series. I tried the Droid DNA, but battery life was a killer. Since most companies don't make battery cases it left me with Samsung, I even recently tried the G3 but wasn't impressed with call quality and their skin. My job has me taking a lot of picture which also rules out a lot of phones. Sorry that I am more open to all platforms than you and taking to calling people liars is so important to you.

They're making more of these not because they're selling 10x more, it is because they expect all initial iPhone 6 pluses to come back bent. They need to be able to replace every single unit as soon as it hits stores in order to drown out the problem.

We need a better build iPhone 6 in general not more bendable ones we need better screen strength and build quality that 6 design is like they went to the drawing board burnt the board and started back up on regular computer paper and sketched out a piece of crap.

Iphone 6 and 6+ got the most number of cons points on a gsmarena review for a flagship phone. Hide the Apple logo on the back and the majority of those who bought it won't even bother and look at it. Note 4 and Z3 are the real beasts

I was curious to know what's so good about the Note 4 and the Z3. Both good devices but pretty slow compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. Do a search for Anandtech iPhone 6 benchmark - the iPhone 6 absolutely smokes current Android offerings.
