Apple rumored to be working on an iOS-to-Android migration app

Apple already has an app to help Android users who want to switch to an iPhone. Called "Move to iOS," the app is available from the Google Play Store. Using a secure Wi-Fi connection, your pictures, messages and content are sent to your new iPhone. According to a report published today, Apple has been asked by mobile carriers to develop an app that will help iOS users moving to Android...

Did You Miss The Part In The Article Where It Said Apple Was Asked To Make The App By Mobile Carriers So It Makes Perfect Sense Why Apple Would Comply With The Request. Apple Isn't Making An Android Handset LOL.

Apple isn't like Google and Android OEMs. They don't have to take crap from the carriers.

I Know Apple Doesn't Have To Do What Carriers Say But Even Apple Shows Common Courtesy Sometimes.

Say that when carriers stop subsidizing iPhone.

They Really Don't Have To Do What Carries Want, Ios Is A Closed Os That Apple Owns All The Rights To. If You Hadn't Noticed There Aren't Any Pre-Installed Carrier Apps Present On iPhones.

I was right, it's the Euro networks all saying they need an app and in the Euro that a big thing, this is not the USA, iPhone are not the all and end all

UPDATE: haha, Apple denies that it's making such a migration tool - told you it made no sense - I bet buncha haters already checking for it in google play to give it 1 star rating.

Really curious how haters are gonna spin this one into "Apple is evil" bandwagon.

Its not like they are giving us anything. It will simply allow you to do it from one mobile device to another. Funny Samsung already has such an app. Oh and look you can go to or from a Samsung phone to an iPhone inside one app. You dont need to download 2 apps. There are other apps that can help you get much of that onto your device. My email I can sync from my Android from Outlook to an iOS device via iTunes. Doing something nice, doesn't make you any less evil.

"Funny Samsung already has such an app" Your point? "Doing something nice, doesn't make you any less evil." Maybe one day Samsung will make a phone that doesn't lag after a few months.

Best to see after the buzz on pocketnow for the note 5 and edge + as they make it very clear they are the 1st to not lag, so try harder, just to be clear they always say they lag, like they did for the note 4

They have. Maybe Apple will make a phone that doesn't lag after 3 updates. You're such an idiot. My Note doesn't lag accept in the keyboard which is where even the iPhone lags. Also the iphone has had not 1, not 2, but 3 updates to deal with issues inclusing a brand new phone that lags right after the very first update. No Samsung phone has ever been laggy out the box. Yet even the latest iphones came out the box brand new with nothign instlled being laggy. if that is really your best response is talkign about lag, then you a stupid @$$. So what if a phone lags. What can you iPhone do? NOTHING yet costs as much or more than my phone. Amazing how a device that has no extended features is more buggy and laggy than any mobile platform in existence. STFU dude and enjoy what you like and leave me along. Ignorant loser!

Here have some cheese to go with the whine and the salty tears. Let's start by talking about the aggressive RAM management of the Note 5. 4GB of ram and it has to be subjected to RAM management? Lol don't waste my time. I won't even start by reminding you how the 6S/S+ are killing it in the benchmarks. You can't call me ignorant when you yourself is just as ignorant.

I just checked my S2 after almost 5 years, just as fast or faster than when I first received it. Next nonsense claim please.

You still use an s2? Great phone in its day (I loved my s2 skyrocket), but why not upgrade?

I have an S6 Edge Plus too, my S2 is used by my young nephew and I borrowed it for a few weeks on a hiking trip in the US 2 months ago, where I didn't want to expose my new phone to all kinds of hazardous environmental threats. Sure, it's slower and the small screen took a lot of getting used to again, but I was still pleasantly surprised by how well it gets the job done. With a blistering fast browser like Puffin, it's hard to believe its age. At the hotel it could cast 1080p movies to the TV like it has never done anything else, or download a torrent with 7 megabytes per second in the background while browsing and sending messages and attachments at the same time, no sweat. It sure was ahead of its time in a few ways.

But they haven't made it yet and as far as we know, they probably aren't going to make it because "Apple is evil"(?).

According to Trudy Muller, "there is no truth to this rumor". "We are entirely focused on switching users from Android to iPhone, and that is going great", the spokesperson goes on to say. So there you have it, one 'shocking' piece of tech news, debunked. Oops. No need to spin a thing, Apple is still evil and debunked rumors aren't going to change that.

I think they're prepping for those who switch because of the headphone jack

Probably will corrupt your data on the way out making your transition an officially ugly one, then you might be tempted to go back...there's never a no-strings-attached smooth way out of the walled garden. From text messages not following you even after you wipe your iDevice (gotta disable the service prior to wiping it), to paid-for media that won't play on other devices (gotta re-create AAC version in iTunes to remove that stupid DRM stuff), to calendars that just don't sync at all with other services, to contact properties that just get messed up on every sync. The walled garden is only compatible with the walled garden.

I haven't used one app from Apple that didn't work well.

Also Apple music, that thing was buggy and I don't even know what button to press and what they do, what is "add to up next" supposed to even mean?

62. AlikMalix unregistered

Add to Up Next will add the current song to the top of the list of what you want to play next. Really nice feature that lets you squeeze a track in of already predetermined list of songs to be played next. But I don't use Apple Music. So I got rid of it. I'm only using the simple version of that player where I have 3 buttons: my music, playlist, radio -- That's It. You guys complain when IOS is too simple - but give you a few extra features and you don't know how to use it all of a sudden.
