And I agree with this. To me sometimes innovate and invent can be one and the same. I do think many ppl think innovate means to invent and it doesn't.

My thing is Apple does OS's, PC monitors, mobile phones, media players, laptops and tablets mainly. Samsung does components in PC's, monitors, TVs, phones, tablets, appliances, laptops, storage...I just dont think in 2012 Apple can be considered the most innovative company. In 2012 I might put Google

ahead of Apple. But definitely Samsung ahead of Apple for 2012.

And I left out displays....

Samsung just has their hands in too many areas to not be considered innovative or lower than Apple. They have a top selling phone and their HDTV's are among the best.

iDevices are made up of alot of Samsung components or Samsung helped them with some things. Yet Apple is the most innovative company...just shows ppl dont really know the nuts n bolts , ins n outs of these products.

Its amazing that apple spend that much money on R&D and only come up with those so call "innovative" products.

This article is as bad as Romney trying to win the election on tuesday!! I cant see why Apple is the most innovative company when they didnt create features like true multitasking, making phones with screens larger than 4.5in+, etc! If this article was written 3-4 years ago, I cant argue with that..........but cant say that now

Seriously!? World most innovative company!? Alright let me get into this, in the past i agree certain of the Apple product may consider innovative, but i really disagree with the statement says that they are the most innovative company..... If Apple really is the world most innovative company, then i should say there is lot more innovative company out there that deserve the title as well.

Do people still live in 2007?? You gotta be kidding me! What was that Apple made this year innovative? A stretched iPhone? A smaller iPad? And who the hell voted for them? Even blind people see a lot better than these jokers.

Sounds like some investors over at Booz are just trying to keep the Apple PR wagon rolling on positive notes to try and prevent AAPL from tanking any further.

"Most Innovative Company" my left butt cheek! What innovation we've seen come from Apple is in legalese for suing other companies over broad & generic terms. Product-wise, Apple's most innovative products were from buy-outs of other companies that already did all the heavy lifting.

Of course they are innovative! You guys are all haters! They invented the touchscreen phone! They invented 4G lte, they invented the 4" screen, and they invented panoramic photos! Etc, etc. That's real innovation!

They did not invent touchscreen phones...

They created touchscreen phones, by combining two existing technologies - phone and touchscreen.

By the way touchscreen technology was patented in 1995 by NOKIA...

As much as I hate to use hash tags, I believe you have to. Nobody has a sense of humor anymore. #real talk.
Also, who did Tim blow to get on top of this list? Silly little peons, they have no idea what is actually going on in the real world.

it says apple aka mac books included but innovation i need to see the scale that they had to judge according to because .... it doesn't make sense when every smart phone has what apple has to offer

I have come to the conclusion that any sort of positive spin or something that directly affects android you people get upset and probably go home and beat your yourself against a wall. Keep it coming iphonearena and soon enough android people will be gone!!!

seriously whats your problem troll

your not in some battle with those who use android and your not part of apple

ive had it with the fanboy takeover of this site, from both sides. the apple trolls talk the most crap though. your basically righting off all who use android and why? and before you say they do that to apple users no they dont they do though do it to the apple trolls who are just blatant with there fanboy comments and delusion they are somehow connected to apple and when apple succeeds it means they do.....just sad now

What is the point of this article?

Proving that throwing money into R&D = innovation?

Apple did throw a lot of money into R&D, but nothing innovative came out of it. I'll wait and see if the iPhone 6 will make me change my point of view.

The legal department is probably included in their R&D dept. If that's really the case, then it makes perfect sense.

Clearly, Booz (what a joke of a name) does not have a clue on what "Innovation", "Innovative" & "Innovate" mean... Seriously!!! The company and its workers probably only use Apple products (iDevices, Macs, etc) and that's what they only know when it comes to technology. They live in a bubble that is called "Appledom". Come on! Get out of the bubble some time and you'll see what real innovations are! LMFAO
