Apple knew about problems with Apple Maps before iOS 6 launch

0. phoneArena posted on 09 Oct 2012, 20:11

Six iOS developers say that they warned Cupertino about the problems with Apple Maps well before iOS 6 and thus the Maps app was launched; the anonymous developers all have active apps that count on Apple Maps to work and had sent correspondence to Apple, complaining about the problems...

I understand we must adhere to the idea some stories being news but this to me is a dead issue. Of course they knew about the product they were releasing. Of course they were aware of its problems. In the end, they had to do it because they wanted their own in-house solution. Now that we know that, surely we can get on with the obvious can't we?

They should never claimed it was the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever, when they knew it is a beta to begin with. Kind of lying to consumers.

Of course they knew. It's not like they're too dumb to not know these things. It's too obvious to be ignored, but they had no choice but release it anyways.

Desperation. Or what's the word for doing something completely bad and knowing you'll get away with it because your following is disgustingly loyal to everything you do, no matter how bad you screw them over? What's the word for that?

As they told already they don't care of customers. This news doesn't surprise anyone.

One more joke- Apple's site claims that iOS 6 is the most ''advance operating system to date''.. BIG JOKE.... IF iOS 6 IS ADVANCED, THEN ANDROID IS SPACE SHATTERING.

Didn't the same thing happen with Antennagate? Only Apple can get away with treating their customers this way. Any other company else would be burried.

Its called PR Apple, and it means you admit the software has faults to begin with and give it a beta tag, that means that people can't accuse Apple of these problems as they have already admitted they exist. Learnt this in Business Management today, seems pretty simple for a kid if you ask me

The problem is apple didn't give it a beta tag. They put on their website that it is "the most powerful mapping service. " when it obviously wasn't. Apple not only released a beta, but they lied about it and said it was better than a full mapping service that had fixed most major bugs.

This is sooo obvious... How can they don't know the issue, when they release it????

Don't blame apple.... They're the perfect business. They make a decent product, offer it as a premium product, and make huge margins by telling everyone that their products are amazing*(compared to previous models, and torn up paper maps).

So what this really boils down to.. is we're all jealous we didnt think of it first. i was thinking of opening a consignment shop, sewing my initials into every piece of clothing that comes in, and selling it for 100 times what i got it for. all i have to do is tell everyone... "this is what everyone else is doing, so you'll look awesome doing it too!"
